Posted on November 12, 2019 It’s the Socialists Stupid: A Note From Benjamin Gitlow By J.R.Nyquist
The goal of the socialist is to consolidate political power. Only then can he build his ideal world by eradicating the “evils of capitalism.” The socialists’ cynical dislike of the existing system opens the way to the building of an even more cynical system — far from the ideal world they are trying to create. True-believing socialists can appear formidable, of course, even ferocious; or they can sound silly, even childish.
One of the most interesting socialists of the twentieth century was Benjamin Gitlow, who began as a true-believing communist and awoke to its immorality after a confrontation with Soviet dictator Joseph Stalin. In his introduction to Benjamin Gitlow’s book, The Whole of Their Lives, Max Eastman described Gitlow as an ideal Marxist, and “the first man arrested in the United States for advocating communism.”
His trial occurred in 1919 in the midst of the famous ‘red raids’ of Attorney General Palmer. Clarence Darrow undertook to get him off by hushing the implications of the subversive things he had said. But Gitlow would have nothing to do with that. He was a revolutionist, and he insisted that Darrow defend him on the sole ground of the ‘right of revolution.’
Because he advocated the overthrow of the U.S. Government, Gitlow was convicted and sentenced under New York’s Criminal Anarchy statute of 1902. Gitlow made no attempt to hide his communist motives. During the trial, he denounced the U.S. political system as a “capitalist dictatorship.” He addressed the jury as follows:
The socialists have always maintained that the change from capitalism to socialism would be a fundamental change, that … we would have a complete reorganization of society, that this change would not be a question of reform; that the capitalist system … would give way to a new system of society based on a new code of laws, based on a new ethics, and based on a new form of government. For that reason, the socialist philosophy has always been a revolutionary philosophy and people who adhered to the socialist program … were always considered revolutionists, and … I am a revolutionist.
In its wisdom, the jury found him guilty. He served three years in Sing Sing Prison before being pardoned by Governor Al Smith. After leaving prison his revolutionary career was even more spectacular than before. Gitlow went on to occupy “every important post in the American Communist Party:” According to Eastman, Gitlow became editor-in-chief of the Communist Party’s newspaper, he became a —
member of its Political Committee, member of its Secretariat of Three, General Secretary of the party, director of its strike and trade union policy, secret leader of the Passaic textile workers strike, the biggest communist strike in our history, and twice the communist candidate for Vice President. He made his first trip to Moscow in 1927 at the special request of the Kremlin. An extended conversation with Stalin on the problems of the American movement ensured him the highest advancement. He became a member of the executive committee both of the Red Trade Unions International, and within the latter was elected to the Presidium, the inside ruling group of the world communist movement.
Gitlow was one of America’s top communist leaders. But then something happened. He began to doubt the goodness and infallibility of Joseph Stalin, the number one boss in the worldwide communist movement. While attending the May 1929 session of the Presidium of the Communist International in Moscow, Stalin wanted to reshape the American party to his specifications. Therefore Stalin presented an “Address to the American Party” in which he denounced the American communist leaders as “right deviationists” and “unprincipled opportunists.” In this way Stalin hoped to subordinate America’s communist leaders to himself. In reaction, the American communists banded together, rebuking Stalin.
Like Moses coming down from Sinai, Stalin personally descended on the Presidium of the Communist International. He stepped up to the podium and laid down the law. He addressed the assembled communists as follows:
…the extreme factionalism of the leaders of the majority [of the American delegation] has driven them into the path of insubordination, and hence of warfare against the Comintern…. And now, the question arises: do the members of the American delegation, as communists, as Leninists, consider themselves entitled not to submit to the decisions of the Executive Committee of the Comintern on the American question?
The American delegation was terror-stricken by Stalin’s statement. Being accused of factionalism and insubordination by Stalin, they imagined the worst. What would Stalin do to them? Were they safe? Would they be expelled from the Communist International? Characteristically, Stalin demanded that each member of the American delegation stand up and declare his position. One by one the American communists, frightened by the angry Soviet dictator, submitted. Gitlow was the last American to speak. He said,
I cannot accept the demand put upon me to discredit myself before the American working class, for I would not only be discrediting myself and the leadership of the party, but the party itself which gave rise to such leadership…. Not only do I vote against the decision, but when I return to the United States I will fight against it!
A long whistle was heard from the crowd. Stalin strode back to the podium, enraged. The Soviet dictator spoke as follows:
True Bolshevik courage does not consist in placing one’s individual will above the will of the Comintern. True courage consists in being strong enough to master and overcome oneself and subordinate one’s will to the will of the collective, the will of the higher party body…. And this is true not only in respect to individual parties and their central committees; it is particularly true in respect of the Comintern and its directing organs, which unite all parties of communists throughout the world…. They talk of their conscience and convictions…. But what is to be done if the conscience and convictions of the Presidium conflict with the conscience and convictions of individual members of the American delegation? What is to be done if the American delegation receives only one vote for their declaration, the vote of Comrade Gitlow, while the remaining members of the Presidium unanimously declared themselves against the declaration?
Such was Stalin’s logic — the logic of political discipline. It is important to remember that the Communist International movement is and was ruled by consensus. Democracy in the communist movement did not mean voting your conscience. Democracy meant agreement, not dissent. In practice, collectivism requires consensus. It was so under Stalin, and it remains so in today’s Russia (which is still secretly communist) and China (which is openly ruled by the Chinese Communist Party). Because he did not accept the communist consensus, Gitlow was booted out of the communist movement. According to Eastman,
From being a high official in a power-structure supposedly on its way to take over the world, he became an obscure, penniless, professionless and well-nigh friendless person, walking the streets of New York looking for a job.
Gitlow was one of the chief organizers of the left in the United States. You could say he was one of the Founding Fathers of the so-called “progressive movement.” As such he understood how the communist organization functioned in America — behind the scenes. He knew the strategic thinking of the Comintern. He knew everything the communists were doing in those days.
Because of his break with Stalin, Gitlow came to oppose communism and publicly warned of its methods. According to Gitlow it would be incorrect to view the Communist Party as a small and irrelevant faction of the left. Since the Russian Revolution the left in America and Europe has become, over time, a diverse group of political sects unwittingly dominated by a very small cadre of communists who are practiced in the arts of clandestine manipulation and control. Gitlow explained as follows:
During the period in which the Communist Party operated as an underground organization, they injected themselves into practically every phase of American social and political life. In their activities the communists were guided by an all-inclusive policy based on the tactics of the United Front.
Lenin was the originator of “the tactics of the United Front,” which placed communists inside various non-communist organizations for the purpose of gradually bringing those organizations into alignment with communist plans. In this way the left was reorganized and the communists provided focus to the whole. Gitlow wrote:
By the skillful application of the United Front policy, the communists have become an important and often a decisive force in movements and actions, political and non-political, from which they would otherwise be excluded. The employment of United Front tactics forced the communists to learn how to deal with persons and movements not in their camp. Thus the communists developed into able negotiators and astute politicians. Once the communists got their toes into the narrow opening of a door to an organization, they usually succeeded in squeezing themselves bodily into the organization and either capturing the organization or dominating its affairs.
On the surface the casual observer sees no communists at all. There is only an apparently respectable organization working for a “good cause.” On close inspection, however, many an organization will be found supporting policies that bring advantages to the communists. Take some cause which anyone might think legitimate, dress it up with slogans, and repeat those slogans thousands of times. Consequently, new laws will be adopted, new ways of thinking will be advanced. Who meanwhile notices that Marxist ideas are more and more taking root? — that capitalism is more and more hamstrung? The activists need only a cause, from the oppression of women or minorities to global warming or gay marriage. As Gitlow explained,
The communists thereby create popular movements involving large masses of people, through which they can project their views publicly on a much broader basis than if they acted independently. Since the communists comprise the only closely knit , disciplined forces, they have relatively little difficulty getting the upper hand in the United Front. By playing on the vanity of prominent, influential persons, giving them honors, positions and places on committees with pompous-sounding names, and by cleverly exploiting United Front tactics, the communists, in recent years, have won for themselves the leadership of many causes of a progressive and humanitarian character.
Gitlow’s statement, above, was first published in 1948, over seventy years ago. It is as true today as it was then. The communists were controlling or dominating various non-communist organizations in 1948. And yes, they are doing the same thing today, in 2019. We have been fooled into thinking there has been a “break with the past.” We imagine there isn’t a Comintern anymore. We imagine that communists in the United States no longer follow a strict party consensus established in Moscow or Beijing. Without understanding the United Front tactics of the communists, we are helpless to stop their advance. And they are advancing.
In decades past the communists infiltrated many organizations on the left. Today they also infiltrate the right, which has become incredibly soft. How is this possible? Because the communists were infiltrating the right from the outset, when the right was strong in numbers and conviction. Today it is child’s play for them.
In 1921 the communists created a movement which came to be regarded as the most important anti-communist movement in the world. It was called the Monarchist Alliance of Central Russia. A Moscow bank served as its headquarters, and was for that reason informally known as the “Trust.” Its agents linked arms with the White Russian diaspora, planning assassinations, issuing fake passports, infiltrating Soviet government ministries. All the intelligence agencies of Europe believed in the Trust’s authenticity. They also relied on it for intelligence purposes.
Because of the Trust, the Soviet special services gained entry into anti-communist organizations around the world. Because of the Trust, communists got to know the weaknesses of the West’s intelligence services. History books rarely mention the Trust for a very special reason: when Soviet intelligence revealed it was fake, the embarrassment was so great, and the humiliation so painful, everyone wanted to forget about it. So they did.
Under Lenin the communists learned to infiltrate everywhere, to pretend anything to anyone. There was no limit to the lies they would tell, no fraud too fantastic, no dupe too incredulous, no conspiratorial method too harebrained. They made the outlandish acceptable. And now, look at the politics of today. What is not outlandish?
I have just now given you the key, the explanation for it all.

Posted on June 14, 2020 It ’s Communism, Stupid By J.R.Nyquist
The ideological erosion of the bourgeois order at every level — economic, political, cultural, social — would proceed the initiation of direct frontal assaults on the state. Carl Boggs Gramsci’s Marxism, p. 52
Professor Carl Boggs admires Antonio Gramsci. As a socialist, Boggs understands that Gramsci’s idea of the communist revolutionary “process” depends on “the continuous and organic development of the … oppressed classes….” This development is driven by “novel forms of social participation” which gradually extend “the domain of egalitarianism, [and] non-bureaucratic [forms of] social authority….”
At present, Black Lives Matter functions as the “novel form of participation” for extending “the domain of egalitarianism.” The United States is now destabilized. The Communist game of divide-and-conquer has reached its mature stage. There is an ongoing breakdown of authority, an unserious attitude toward law and order, and a lapse of patriotism.
The death of George Floyd has been used as a catalyst. It was the kind of “event” for which the aforesaid revolutionary formation (Black Lives Matter) was created. Now, Black Lives Matter has become a power in its own right.
It is only the ignorance of the many, and the “fog of war,” that makes the casual observer dubious as to authorship of the present insurrection. For those who have not studied communist tactics, further shocks are in store. The existing political system failed to support the thin blue line, and that line is crumbling. The communists are winning.
To make matters worse, the generals of the U.S. military have signaled their neutrality. General Mark Milley, Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, referred to the rioting and vandalism as “domestic politics.” Misrepresenting the Officer’s Oath as a commitment to egalitarian values, Milley ignored his duty to defend the Constitution against “all enemies, foreign and domestic.” As long as the nation’s enemies give lip service to egalitarianism, General Milley will not list them as enemies. Therefore, a green light has been given. The revolutionaries are free to commit any number of outrages.
Consider the 1,500 buildings damaged or destroyed in the Twin Cities area of Minnesota. America’s generals say this is a police matter — though the police in Minneapolis may soon be disbanded in favor of armed revolutionary gangs (i.e., community policing).
When Senator Tom Cotton wrote his Op-Ed in The New York Times on 3 June, he wrote, “The nation must restore order. The military stands ready.” But our military leaders were not ready. And the editors of The New York Times, criticized for publishing Cotton’s piece, begged pardon for indulging the Senator’s “harsh tone.” The editors objected to Cotton’s claim that “cadres of left-wing radicals” were behind the riots, the violence, the looting and burning of buildings. In fact, said The Times editors, “those allegations have not been substantiated and have been widely questioned.”
According to the paper’s editors, “The Op-Ed [of Senator Cotton] should have been subjected to further substantial revisions … or rejected.” It is a difficult job, indeed, to be an editor of The New York Times. Such an editor is able to substantiate that the sun is warm, that water is wet — but he is unable substantiate the presence of left-wing incendiaries and vandals behind left-wing political rhetoric and slogans. Was it laziness or incompetence that Times reporters hadn’t by then participated in left-activist group-phone calls about bolt cutters, gasoline cans and matches? (I know a conservative journalist who listened in on such calls.) And what is the theory of these journalistic geniuses? — That mobs of looters, in city after city, were summoned out of the night by political apathy?
The The New York Times’s denial of communist involvement in today’s revolutionary actions, is yet another dimension of the revolution. Here America’s “paper of record” is teaching the country how to be skeptical of capitalism — not communism. We are not allowed to blame the left. All blame is directed at systemic white racism; that is, the supposed racism of the capitalist system.
We are not allowed to say that a communist revolution has begun. We are not allowed to say that Marxist groups are engaged in a power grab; that they are using racial issues as camouflage, “extending the domain of egalitarianism”; that looting stores, beating white citizens and police officers has everything to do with communist supremacy (and nothing to do with good race relations).
For those who have studied communism, who have sat in communist meetings, the situation is perfectly obvious. Yet the mainstream media pretends there are no communists. They pretend the left is blameless. Our generals wink at the rioters. The President is opposed or mocked by governors and mayors. The communists are immune to counterattack because they have seized the egalitarian high ground of American politics. They have followed Gramsci’s method.
Communism’s overthrow of our culture was accelerated by the feminists, by the abortionists, by the mainstreaming of “illegal aliens,” by gay marriage, by sympathy for the transgendered. And now it advances as the enemy of the police and the champion of the African American. Each of these “causes,” one after the other, has been used to turn civilization’s extended flank. It is exactly as Boggs said: The Revolution is driven by “novel forms of social participation” which gradually extend “the domain of egalitarianism, [and] non-bureaucratic [forms of] social authority….”
Gramsci’s first priority,” wrote Boggs, “was the multidimensional transformation of civil society, which he considered the ultimate key to the ‘war of movement,’ since there … must be political hegemony even before the attainment of power.” And here we see how political hegemony prior to the seizure of power works in practice.
Yesterday I interviewed the famous talk radio caller, Jimmy from Brooklyn, who is an expert in communism. Explaining the meaning of Boggs’s book on Gramsci, Jimmy said, “Basically, the communists have to get large numbers of people on their side before they can seize power.”
According to Jimmy, a small Marxist cadre, lacking the support of numbers, would have to reeducate and also exterminate millions of people after taking power. It is therefore better to make unwitting Marxists out of nearly everyone in advance. If people from every walk of life have accepted leftist ideas, if they no longer understand or uphold the ideas of their forefathers, the Revolution advances without serious resistance.
The communists made a strategic decision, long ago, to champion the “cause” of women, blacks and other minorities. The whole idea is to carve out a majority in opposition to the “white patriarchy.” According to Jimmy, “It’s similar to how a pimp recruits a young girl. He sympathizes with her. He offers her help. He listens to her complaints about her father. Once she sees that his guidance is necessary, she begins to obey him. Soon enough she becomes a prostitute.”
“This is the real nature of community organizing,” said Jimmy. “They offer genuine help to people at the local level. But that help comes with a price.” Now they are offering an alternative order, without police. “In this process the communists are winning,” said Jimmy, “and the conservatives are too stupid to see it.”
To save the country we must begin to call things by their proper names. We cannot be afraid of the enemy’s egalitarian rhetoric. We must not allow them to intimidate us. We must take charge of our own language. We must name our enemy. We must identify the communists and expose their activity. If we fail to do this, we are lost.

Posted on March 29, 2022 The Subversion of the Not-So-Innocent (by J.R.Nyquist)
If Western democracies collaborate with the KGB regime long enough, they are at risk of degrading to the level of backward and corrupt Russia. Western countries can simply lose their democratic political systems to the Mafia, leaving their citizens defenseless in front of that mortal danger. Alexander Litvinenko, “Allegations,” p. 204
How do we understand the treason of our elites? The fact is, our elites have been compromised by their longstanding partnerships with Moscow and Beijing. The sudden flip of Hillary Clinton, Barack Obama and Joe Biden, almost a decade ago, along with the Democratic Party, toward anti-Russian declamations, should not be taken at face value. There are understandings and relationships hidden from public view. A double game has been played by our “progressives” and those heavily invested in China. Some of them are undoubtedly in shock, at seeing the outbreak of war in eastern Europe. Others are staying the course because they actually believe in socialism and trust in their Chinese “friends.” Some readers may wonder what I am referring to. Let’s take a page from history and reconsider where we have arrived.
In Dan Kurzman’s 1963 volume, Subversion of the Innocents, we read of a lecture given by Mao Zedong in the 1930s. This lecture is recapitulated in a chapter titled “The Art of Deceit,” with citations from a former Peruvian Marxist named Eudocio Ravines. According to Kurzman, most of the progress made by communism since World War II had “been registered since the death of Joseph Stalin in 1953, which was followed by a vital Red policy switch in the underdeveloped countries….”[ii] (We can see, today, that this policy switch has since been successfully implemented to subvert the developed countries.)[iii]
Deeply impressed by the flexible maneuvers of Stalin, Mao noted how deftly the Soviet leader moved left with Kamenev and Zinoviev, then right with Bukharin during the New Economic Policy (NEP),[iv] then switched left again after the end of NEP to implement farm collectivization. Thinking matters over in the Chinese context, Mao envisioned his own variant of Stalin’s “right strategy.” Mao’s theory, wrote Kurzman, “was that he could beat [nationalist leader] Chiang only if he could swing most of the people behind him, and he wasn’t interested in the political orientation of his supporters as long as they followed him. Ideological indoctrination would come later, when the country was safely in his hands.” Thus, Mao practiced a refined variant of the “right strategy,” known as the Yenan Way, “which he had first conceived in the 1930s in his isolated North Chinese Stronghold in Yenan.[v]
Mao learned from Stalin that communist leaders had to be flexible, even ambiguous at times. In fact, Mao thought Stalin had not been flexible enough. Mao envisioned disguising communism behind “the mask of a legitimate national movement, such as anti-imperialism or agrarian reform, to win over workers, peasants, lower-and-middle-class citizens, the intelligentsia, and even businessmen….”[vi] According to former Peruvian communist Eudocio Ravines, Mao offered him the following advice in 1934:
Our experience, the experience of the Yenan Way, is this: people like doctors, generals, dentists, town mayors, and lawyers who aren’t rich, do not love power for itself; much less for the good they can do with it. They want it for the wealth it can bring. They achieve power and then they begin to call out like Napoleon for money, money, and again, money. Get this through your head, comrade. If we help these people, if we are a ladder for them because it suits us well, then it would be absurd for us to stay their hands, sew up their pockets, or check their greed. If we did this, they would turn against us and try to crush us. That happened with Chiang in 1927 – we tried to play the moralist and he hurled all his power against us.[vii]
Mao told Ravines, “Let them get rich today. Very soon we can expropriate everything. The more help they get from us in their pillage, the more positions they will let us take and occupy; they will help us to capture … [these positions] and even to extend them.” Mao then cautioned Ravines against participating in any of their frauds. He warned not to take their plunder. Collaborate with them in secret and leave no proof of the collaboration behind. “This delights your robber friends,” said Mao. “For your integrity leaves more for them to divide among a larger number of fellow rogues.” This method of taking power might seem slow, noted Mao, but it is “actually quicker and surer.”
By chance, if a rogue does not uphold his end of the bargain, the communists subject him to a “frontal attack of pitiless ferocity.” Mao then added, “It is enough to make an example of one; once they see that we can bar the path to a man, that we have the power to destroy him utterly, the rest will be afraid not to play our game. We communists have never given this fear enough weight. I don’t know why. The ambitious petit bourgeois taken with the fever of greed feels real anguish when we strike him hard.”[viii]
After China began trading with the West, this strategy was applied to the largest corporations and richest billionaires in America and Europe.[ix] Here, the Chinese communists followed through on Lenin’s insight that the capitalists “will furnish credits … and, by supplying us materials and technical equipment which we lack, will restore our military industry necessary for our future attacks against our suppliers.”[x]
With Lenin’s vision and Mao’s refinements, the Chinese communists brought the Yenan Way to Wall Street and to the pharmaceutical industry. As money-making became the core concern of the post-Cold War world, the CCP extended their hand in false friendship. “We can make you rich,” they said to American businessmen. “It is glorious to be rich.” But the communist endgame necessarily entails the expropriation of the capitalists, facilitated at some point by a viral pandemic along the lines of Chi Haotian’s secret speech. In his little red book, Quotations from Mao Tsetung, Mao explained, “As for the imperialist countries, we should unite with their peoples and … do business with them … but under no circumstances harbour any unrealistic notions about them.”[xi] (Italics added.)
By 1999 the Chinese Communist Party had received credits and technical equipment to build its military industry. At the same time, China laid the groundwork for acquiring a near-monopoly position in the production of Active Pharmaceutical Ingredients (APIs) and vaccine precursors. Chinese biologists began flooding into U.S. labs. In keeping with the Yenan Way, Beijing sought business partners in the West who could facilitate the CCP’s long-range strategic preparations. Especially, China needed to find the right American billionaire as a partner; and that partner was Microsoft’s Bill Gates. Here was a “visionary” entrepreneur who built a massive technology industry. And Gates was not troubled with the oppressive nature of the CCP regime. Microsoft teamed up with the Chinese communists in the 1990s and has continued to deepen its relationship with Beijing.[xii] According to researcher Peter Schweizer, Gates’s relationship with the Chinese regime has been “deeply troubling.”[xiii]
Gates was lured into this “deeply troubling” relationship because China represented the largest potential tech market on earth. With four times America’s population and a smiling communist dictator ready to promise the moon, how could Gates resist? Of course, he wasn’t the only billionaire to join with the Chinese communists; but he has been, arguably, the most important. “Gates has cooperated with the regime in ways that the other tech titans have not,” wrote Schweizer. “He has lent credence to the claims of the Chinese Communist Party and been rewarded with access, favors, and titles. He has done the bidding of the regime in the tech world and has apologized or made excuses for its aberrant activities.”[xiv]
While arguing that the Internet “cannot be controlled,” Gates has facilitated CCP internet censorship and the suppression of free speech in China (and across the Net).[xv] According to Schweizer, it is hardly surprising that “Gates’s efforts to support the regime have been rewarded.” Gates is celebrated by the CCP as one of fifty foreigners who shaped modern China. This same list includes such luminaries as Karl Marx, Lenin and Stalin. When Chinese President Hu Jintao made his first official trip to the United States, he “stopped off in Seattle for a visit with Gates at his ‘palatial home’ before heading to Washington, D.C.”[xvi]
In this context it is alarming to see that Gates has shifted his focus from computer technology to biosciences, investing in companies and technologies associated with pandemics and, by extension, with biological war. For example, Gates has invested in pharmaceutical companies, like Gilead Sciences, Inc., which developed Remdesivir, a drug credited by Robert F. Kennedy, Jr., with exacerbating the COVID pandemic.[xvii] In fact, another famous name has become associated with Gilead Sciences, Inc. – George Soros, a man who has also “partnered with China.”[xviii]
Turning to the website of the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation, the Yenan Way comes into focus. According to this website, “Since opening our China office in 2007, we have supported China in addressing its major domestic health and development challenges, including infectious diseases and poverty.” The Foundation’s work is described as being “in China for China” as well as being “in China for the world.” As explained on the site, the Foundation has been tackling problems related to “immunization … infectious diseases … and … also extending the global reach of China’s health and development expertise….” The Gates Foundation also facilitates “China’s ability to share its expertise and innovations – including high-quality, low-cost vaccines and other health products – with sub-Saharan Africa and the rest of the developing world.”[xix]
Of greater interest is Gates’s infamous pandemic wargames, which showcase the effectiveness of Chinese-style administrative tyranny in response to a global outbreak. Here the Yenan Way acquires a lab coat, a test kit, and a vaccine ampule. It is global governance under the guise of healthcare – with Chinese communist characteristics. Regarding these pandemic wargames, Robert F. Kennedy, Jr. wrote, “Each of these Kafkaesque exercises became uncanny predictors….[xx] Kennedy has aptly characterized them as follows:
Each rehearsal ends with the same grim punchline: the global pandemic is an excuse to justify the imposition of tyranny and coerced vaccination. The repetition of these exercises suggests that they serve as a kind of rehearsal or training drill for an underlying agenda to coordinate the global dismantling of democratic governance.[xxi]
Futuristic pandemic scenarios, sponsored by Gates, were designed “for Public Health Risk Communicators.” In 2017 there were two such exercises: MARS and SPARS.[xxii] As a tabletop pandemic simulation, the latter imagined a coronavirus pandemic that would supposedly take place from 2025 to 2028. It was, noted Kennedy, an “eerily precise predictor of the COVID-19 pandemic.” In fact, added Kennedy, “the only thing Gates and his planners got wrong was the year.”[xxiii]
The SPARS exercise simulated a coronavirus pandemic “culminating in mass vaccination of the global population.”[xxiv] Even more curious, the scenario blueprint predicted “waves of severe neurological vaccine injuries soon appearing among children and adults.” The simulation even predicted a case fatality rate of 0.6 percent in the United States.[xxv] How were the participants in the exercise supposed to respond? The blueprint was to employ fear-porn to overcome public complacency. The population was to be vaccinated, by hook or by crook. As Kennedy observed, this was not about public health. The exercise was all about sticking to mass vaccination through thick and thin, whether it made sense or not.
If we put this in context with Gates’s relationship to China, we suddenly find ourselves returning to Brig. Gen. Rothschild’s warnings about a toxic attack through the adulteration of medicines (or vaccines). The strategist is left to wonder if vaccines, under such circumstances, might serve as an attack vector. If universal vaccination is imposed, if the vaccines can be contaminated by an attacker, hundreds of millions could be unwittingly victimized. In addition, the unwitting national governments and elites who imposed the vaccinations would be discredited and civil order would likely break down.
Many will think it a contradiction for the communist Chinese to employ capitalist billionaires in their strategy. But contradictions are intrinsic to communist philosophy. In his essay, “On Contradictions,” Mao Zedong explained communist dialectics in terms of ancient Chinese philosophy, noting, “When a thing reaches the limit in one direction, it will turn back to the other direction.”[xxvi] In terms of Mao’s long game, the Cultural Revolution had run its course. A return to Mao’s “right strategy” (the Yenan Way) would naturally be expected. And this is exactly what happened.
Bioscience is big business. Military power depends on that business. Biological warfare lies within the scope of that business. Through the Yenan Way, this business can be subverted and used to facilitate Chinese strategy. What is most disturbing about China’s best billionaire friend, Bill Gates, is the way in which his pandemic simulations have prepared “public health communicators” to support a policy that might well enable an attack vector. If the public is frightened by a pandemic, and a program of mass vaccination is offered as a solution when mass vaccination is not a safe, a question of motive and opportunity presents itself.
Given the CCP’s motivations, is there not an opportunity here?

The Abolition of Humanity (by J.R.Nyquist)
Four reformers met under a bramble bush. They were all agreed that the world must be changed. ‘We must abolish property,’ said one. ‘We must abolish Marriage,’ said the second. ‘We must abolish God,’ said the third. ‘I wish we could abolish work,’ said the fourth. ‘Do not let us get beyond practical politics,’ said the first. ‘The first thing is to reduce men to a common level.’ ‘The first thing,’ said the second, ‘ is to give freedom to the sexes.’ ‘The first thing,’ said the third, ‘is to find out how to do it.’ ‘The first step,’ said the first, ‘is to abolish the Bible.’ ‘The first thing,’ said the second, is to abolish the laws.’ ‘The first thing,’ said the third, ‘is to abolish mankind.’ Robert Louis Stevenson, “The Four Reformers”
⚔️
What a devil wants, in the greater scheme of things, is to destroy. There is, in the cosmos, a creative principle. There is, opposing it, a destructive principle. Thus we find, two opposing tendencies behind everything. And you cannot have one without the other. Look at the policies of any leader and ask if these policies tend towards creation or destruction. Will his policies bring prosperity or bankruptcy? Will they bring peace or war?
Now let us consider, again, the socialists and their New Religion. The first socialist country (the motherland of socialism] was the Union of the Soviet Socialist Republics, otherwise known as the Soviet Union. Was this country a destructive or creative formation? Under its founder, Vladimir Lenin, millions were killed in the Russian Civil War and the Red Terror. We don’t even have an exact death count. What was then built? Everyone was poor. There was no money. So Lenin embraced “state capitalism” under the New Economic Policy (NEP). In other words, he destroyed the country for the sake of his power, then he rebuilt it with capitalism.
Of course, Lenin died in 1924 and Stalin took over. And once Stalin had built something, he began selectively destroying again; first, destroying elements of the Communist Party itself; second, by destroying the more prosperous farmers (the “kulaks”); third, by instituting a terror famine in Ukraine; fourth, by preparing a massive military buildup in advance of World War II. Stalin killed between 30 and 60 million human beings. Again, we do not know the exact number.
Then, to unleash Hitler on the world, Stalin signed the Molotov-Ribbentrop Pact. That begin what Stalin called the Second Imperialist War. Moscow and Berlin partitioned Poland. The West declared war on Hitler and the communists under Stalin gloated. They said to themselves. “The fools have given us Europe. All we have to do is wait for the combatants to exhaust each other while we build an arsenal of 30,000 tanks.”
Hitler was too successful in this early phase, defeating France in 1940. Hitler then realized what Stalin was up to and turned on his “partner,” attacking the Soviet Union on 22 June 1941. Tens of millions died. But Stalin was saved by the West. And he invaded what is now China and helped the communists come to power there. And once this was accomplished, he contemplated a war with the West. But then he died, or perhaps was murdered by his associates.
These associates developed a long range strategy that involved re-enacting Lenin’s New Economic Policy. They wanted access to technology and money. They wanted to build in order to have a better means of destroying. They wanted also to subvert the West by becoming the West’s partner. And China would play a special role in this.
Now let us consider where we are today. Like Lenin, Gorbachev began a New Economic Policy back in the 1980s. The USSR gave up its empire for the sake of rebuilding itself, for the alleged sake of creation. Thirty years later, President Vladimir Putin has the largest nuclear arsenal in the world. In other words, creation was placed in the service of destruction.
Despite what people are saying, Putin has a potent military. And we have only seen a small part of it. Naturally, it is not perfect. As Viktor Suvorov has argued, Moscow’s army is paradoxically strong and weak, effective and ineffective. With every apparent defeat it will move forward. It will win hard-fought battles. This is the pattern. This is already the way Russian history works.
And in this current military scenario, Putin has aligned his country with China and the other communist countries. He has not done this because he is a Christian. Oh no. He is a fake Christian even as he was a fake democrat. Putin is a communist, and his goal has always been to paste the Soviet Union back together – which is why he invaded Ukraine.
Putin stated in his pre-war speech that the breakup of the Soviet Union was illegal. That means he is not actually the leader of Russia, but the leader of the Soviet Union. His objective, therefore, is to lead the communist bloc to victory over the imperialists and capitalists. Therefore, the war in Ukraine is part of a much larger project.
Of course, Putin says he is liberating the Ukrainian people from American imperialist control. But everyone can see that the Ukrainian people are already free, and they are willing to fight and die for that freedom – because they do not want to be ruled by Moscow. And so, Putin’s invasion of Ukraine has met stiff resistance. The weather in February was warmer than usual. The Russian tanks and vehicles have been largely road-bound and limited in their ability to maneuver. So Russian casualties have been higher than expected.
So what does Putin do?
He bombards Ukraine’s cities. He destroys and he destroys. Last week the mayor of Kharkiv said one third of the city – Ukraine’s largest city – was rubble. Mariupol has been besieged and its 400,000 residents are said to be without running water or heat. Kiev faces the greatest offensive of all. Elements of four Russian armies are gathering to the north and east of the city. Their objective is to surround it, to bombard it, and to wipe out Ukraine’s center of government.
The suffering in Ukraine is unimaginable. Yet the people bravely fight on against difficult odds.
President Zelensky, addressing the British Parliament, received a standing ovation when he said, “Ukraine has not wanted to become great, but we have become great in the course of this war. We are the country that is saving people despite having to fight one of the biggest armies in the world. We have to fight the helicopters, the rockets. The question for us now is, ‘To be or not to be.’ Oh no, for the last ten days this question could have been asked. But now I can give you a definitive answer. It is definitely ‘yes, to be.’ And I would like to remind you, and the world, what you have already heard, again: We will not give up. And we will not lose. We will fight to the end, at sea and in the air. We will continue fighting for our land whatever the cost. We will fight in the forests, in the fields, on the shores, in the streets…. We will fight on the banks of different rivers … and we are looking for your help, for the help of the civilized countries. We are thankful for this help, and I am very grateful to you, Boris [Johnson, Prime Minister of the U.K.]. Please increase the pressure of sanctions against this country. And please recognize this country [Russia] as a terrorist state. And please make sure that our Ukrainian skies are safe. Be sure that you do what needs to be done, and what is stipulated by the greatness of your country. Best of all to Ukraine and the United Kingdom.”
How can the West resist this plea? Can the civilized world stand by and merely watch? The alternative, of course, is to risk nuclear war. The Russian government has sternly warned the world to stay out. They have put their nuclear forces on alert. They are ready to launch their missiles. And here is a moral dilemma. Does the West remain comfortable and safe as it watches an entire nation destroyed?
I am afraid there is no happy answer here. If we do nothing, I must tell you my honest opinion. We will be bombed and attacked when our turn comes. This is something I came to understand long ago. Putin and his communist allies are destroyers, and they seek America’s destruction even more earnestly than they seek Ukraine’s.
Putin has shown that he is a destroyer, not a creator. The destruction we are now witnessing appears quite insane to us. Yet Putin is not a madman. Destruction is a choice open to all. It is the choice, I believe, of all the totalitarian countries. And we have refused to recognize this. War with these countries has always been in the cards. And if by some miracle we avoid a great war now, it will yet come.
And for that matter, we have communists right here in America, facilitating the work of destruction, aiding and abetting our enemies in Beijing and Moscow. Watch the death and destruction unleashed on Kiev. There are even more destructive Russian weapons aimed at New York and Washington. If the leaders in Moscow are willing to level the cities of their brother Slavs, do you think they will fail to level our cities?
We have no idea how much danger we are in right now. And we have no idea how much our own survival may depend on the survival of Ukraine.

Four Strategic Puzzle Pieces
(by J.R.Nyquist)
Many people today are completely convinced that a new hero of Russian history, as yet unknown, is changing its course … and we cannot comprehend his intentions, since the protagonist himself merges with other characters. Some call him by the foreign term mafia. Others express themselves more plainly in Russian and label him an ugolovnik, a criminal, struggling for power. Still others are disposed to speak of the traits and methods of today’s criminal mafia as bearing the unique stamp of yesterday’s apparatchiks, KGB agents, and influential ‘commanders of the socialist economy,’ especially the chiefs of the military-industrial complex who now occupy key political and economic posts. Lev Timofeyev, Russia’s Secret Rulers [1992][1]
Introduction: Deceptive Liberalization
At the end of the Cold War, the Russian people demanded an investigation of “secret power structures” controlling politics and the economy. There was the suspicion, by some, that the old Soviet system was somehow perpetuating itself in an underhanded way. How odd this situation was, may be judged by some of the advocates of Soviet liberalization. These advocates included KGB or MVD generals who suddenly cross-dressed as liberals – like MVD Gen. Edward Shevardnadze, KGB Gen. Oleg Kalugin, and then there was the Deputy Mayor of St. Petersburg, KGB Lt. Col. Vladimir Putin. Was the West suddenly willing to put its faith in such “actors”? At the time, of course, everyone thought Russia was all about reform “and the security services were on board.” But as journalist Yevgenia Albats reported in 1994, the “grand proclamation of reform was followed almost immediately by a much less publicized retreat.”[2] What really happened? The Communist Party Soviet Union went underground from whence it continued to control the state and economy through its many “actors” and front-men, including the conveniently Jewish oligarchs like Boris Berezovsky, Mikhail Khordorkovsky, and Vladimir Gusinsky. Here was an inside joke perpetrated by the Cheka – effective because antisemitism is the uneducated-man’s Marxism.
In a 2013 interview, former KGB officer Konstantin Preobrazhenskiy explained that oligarch Boris Berezovsky was “a KGB agent who got his wealth from the Communist Party Soviet Union.” Preobrazhenskiy added that all the Russian oligarchs had been created in the same manner. [3] In the interview, he told me, “Russia’s seeming turn away from communism was nothing but a cosmetic operation. The communists have now repainted themselves as democrats….”[4] And so, the promised KGB reforms in Russia never happened. As Albats noted, “some [KGB] directorates changed their names, others merged, and still others separated. On the whole, everything returned to the [Soviet] status quo of the fall and winter of 1991.”[5]
The West, wanting to believe the Soviet system had been changed overnight into a democracy, ignored the evidence. According to Albats, “the KGB has lost virtually none of its former functions.”[6] Its officers and agents continue to keep a “close watch on joint ventures with the West, still monitors every area that affects state interests. It still bugs whatever government lines it chooses.”[7]
And why does this matter today? Because Moscow is mobilizing and making demands. It wants to roll back the Soviet defeat of 1991. It wants an excuse to take Ukraine. President Lukashenko of Belarus gave a speech last month in which he alleged that the West was trying “to drown the Russian-Ukrainian brotherhood, our Slavic brotherhood, in blood. But we will return Ukraine to the bosom of the Slavs. We will definitely do it.”[8] In this venture, Belarus is not Russia’s only strategic partner. Putin’s recent meeting with Chinese President Xi Jinping showcased Chinese support for Russia’s mobilization against NATO.
Konstantin Preobrazhenskiy worked for the KGB in the Far East recruiting Chinese and Japanese agents. Nine years ago, I asked him about the possibility of a military alliance between Russia and China. To this he immediately replied, “This alliance already exists.” I asked on what basis it exists. He replied, “China is an ideological enemy of America. Chinese communists understand that the Russians have to put on a mask of democracy before the naïve West; but before China they don’t need this mask and unmask themselves. Both countries do not publicly declare their anti-American alliance. It is part of their joint activity of deceiving America. You see, ideological integrity is a sufficient frame for such an alliance. As it is not public, it mostly concerns cooperation in some secret spheres.”[9]
Two years after the SARS-CoV-2 outbreak, Russia threatens Europe even as China threatens the Far East. What lies behind all this? Has it been coordinated all along? Chinese Biological Warfare and SARS-CoV-2
The former Commanding General of the U.S. Army Chemical Corps Research and Development Command, Brigadier General J.H. Rothschild, wrote a book published in 1964 titled Tomorrow’s Weapons. The book described what Rothschild called “toxic weapons,” used in chemical and biological warfare. His most farsighted chapter was on “Special operations with toxic weapons.” Rothschild explained that toxic weapons were “very powerful … particularly when used against an open society, such as ours, in times of supposed peace.”[10] Touching on the use of toxic weapons in sabotage operations, General Rothschild noted that toxic weapons could be used “over a period of time to break down the confidence of … people in their country….”[11]
More specifically, Rothschild warned that sabotage committed by way of toxic agents – biological and chemical – could be used to “destroy our confidence in the ability of our government to insure the protection of our food, medicines, and the like.” Rothschild noted that even during the Cold War, “little control is exercised over the movements or actions of our people” and this “simplifies the saboteur’s job. If the enemy’s use of sabotage forces us to institute restrictive measures on our freedom to move about, that in itself is a victory for the enemy.”[12] Rothschild’s warnings have been vindicated, especially since the SARS-CoV-2 outbreak erupted out of China in January 2020. Today, with advances in biological technology, a sabotage attack is likely to rely on unfamiliar organisms with unfamiliar effects on the human body. With respect to countermeasures, Rothschild even offered a noteworthy remark about vaccines when he wrote, “Dependence upon artificial immunization as a protective measure [against a weapon] must be carefully evaluated because the efficacy of most artificial immunity is relative.”[13]
Rothschild explained that our “food, drug, and cosmetic industries are all likely sabotage victims. The production processes of all are vulnerable to the introduction of chemical and biological agents, and the resultant contaminated products could be widely distributed.”[14] Rothschild further explained that the contamination of widely used food additives could have a devastating effect, especially because safeguards have never been put into place. Rothschild suggested that the mass contamination of medicines and vaccines was not likely to occur under normal Cold War conditions. “Rather,” noted Rothschild, “this [contamination] would be used to break down public confidence immediately preceding the outbreak of hostilities, or otherwise tied into an overall design. A sustained campaign of sabotage … irregularly dispersed with regard to time and area of occurrence, can produce a constant buildup of public fear and a complete loss of confidence in authority. If such a campaign were conducted in peace time with no particular climax in view, effects would be inconclusive and it would give time to establish a defense.”[15] In other words, biological sabotage is best used prior to the outbreak of a major war.
There are several reasons to suspect that such an operation, launched in the pre-war climate of today, might already be underway against the West. Intelligence sources in Southeast Asia and China indicate that a bio-war operation was approved by the CCP Politburo in 2019. To place the SARS-CoV-2 outbreak in its proper context, the following points deserve consideration:
(1) Both China and Russia, now working as “strategic partners,” have raised their military readiness with increased drills and mobilizations beginning after the SARS-CoV-2 outbreak.[16] Eerily consistent with Rothschild’s thesis about a biological sabotage attack “preceding the outbreak of hostilities,” Chinese deployments against Taiwan and Russian deployments against Ukraine have followed on the heels of SARS-CoV-2 as if a larger plan is about to unfold.
(2) China and Russia claim to share the same global vision for humanity’s future. A joint statement of the Chinese and Russian foreign ministries, issued in March of 2021, describes the Russia-Chinese partnership in terms of “sustainable development,” which envisions a socialist future and a new global system based on radical environmentalism and a global war on poverty.[17]
(3) According to intelligence sources, the CCP developed a plan to collapse the U.S. health system through “strong dominance in global medical supplies and APIs [Active Pharmaceutical ingredients].”[18] At some future date the Chinese strategists plan to exploit U.S. dependence on Chinese APIs. Chinese economist and strategist “David” Li Daokui, outlined the strategy as follows: “Once export [of APIs] is reduced, the medical systems of some developed countries will not work.”[19]
(4) With the “core strategy” of withholding or reducing pharmaceutical supplies, Chinese strategists under Yongtu Long,[20] a key advisor of China investment banker Zhu Yunlai,[21] were tasked by the CCP Politburo with coordinating Chinese economic strategy with bio-warfare trials undertaken by the Wuhan Institute of Virology.[22]
(5) The CCP Politburo decided to “fast forward” the testing of SARS-CoV-2, removing “all bureaucracy to act swiftly and secretly on the agenda.”[23]
(6) The CCP Politburo has been exploiting SARS-CoV-2 to “overwhelm the western social system” and “severely disrupt American and European infrastructure” in advance of a war.[24]
(7) A speech of Chinese Defense Minister Chi Haotian, presented to the Communist Party elite roughly twenty years ago, outlined plans for a surprise biological attack on the United States (discussed in the last section of this paper). In the speech Chi stated, “Only by using non-destructive weapons that can kill many people will we be able to reserve America for ourselves.”[25] Information Sabotage and API Attack Vectors
A biological sabotage attack against a country – especially a soft target like the United States – could be amplified by information warfare directed against appropriate medical countermeasures. Agents of influence and corrupt officials could be employed in such an effort during a pandemic. For example, the population could be urged to use masks that do not work, or lockdowns could be mandated to damage the target country’s economy, or a decision to mass vaccinate in the midst of the pandemic could propagate more virulent disease strains. Last, but not least, authorities could compel mass vaccination with dangerous experimental vaccine technologies. It may be no accident that all of these misguided policies have been adopted by the United States and other Western countries during the SARS-CoV-2 pandemic.
It may also be no accident that Chinese nationals permeate America’s university research labs, the CDC, and more. According to a New York Times story of 31 December 2019, federal officials were then “investigating hundreds of cases” of espionage by visiting scientists, “nearly all of them Chinese nationals.”[26] The Times went on to say, “Researchers of Chinese descent make up nearly half the work force in American research laboratories, in part because American scientists are drawn to the private sector and [are] less interested in academic careers….”[27]
Brigadier General Rothschild lamented that effective measures for protecting the country’s drug and food supply were not adopted in the 1960s, despite urgent recommendations from the military in 1955. Now the problem is much worse. Large numbers of Chinese nationals are enrolled at Emory University in Atlanta,[28] which collaborates closely with the Centers for Disease Control (CDC), also in Atlanta, Georgia.[29] In essence, the CDC has opened itself to massive infiltration by agents of a hostile foreign power. If Brig. Gen. Rothschild was worried about the adulteration of foods and medicines in the 1960s, we must now contend with the adulteration of science itself – and the adulteration of policies based on scientific research.
On top of advocating harmful scientific solutions, Chinese agents could do what Rothschild feared most; that is, Chinese agents could contaminate drugs or vaccines by adulterating Active Pharmaceutical Ingredients (APIs) and/or vaccine precursors. Chinese executives could even apply financial pressure to U.S. pharmaceutical companies to allow Chinese access to U.S. vaccine production. Robert Kennedy, Jr. attributes official malfeasance during the pandemic to corporate greed, yet 500,000 unnecessary deaths might well be the result of China turning corrupt or vulnerable U.S. institutions to account.[30] Greed and corruption can always be leveraged by intelligence networks; and China’s intelligence operations in the United States involve many thousands of people. According to FBI Director Christopher Wray, the scale of Chinese spying in the United States is “like nothing we’ve ever seen from any country.”[31] According to Wray, there are over 2,000 cases of Chinese espionage currently under investigation by the FBI.[32]
Economic engagement has facilitated Chinese infiltration of U.S. research labs and sabotage of U.S. pharmaceutical companies. Scientific exchanges facilitate espionage as well. The potential for serious mischief, including extensive sabotage and active measures, stems from the ease with which Chinese nationals can infiltrate American institutions. This infiltration has given Beijing an ideal position from which to initiate successful toxic sabotage operations against America. In the book China RX, the authors detail China’s dominance over the global drug business. According to the authors, “China’s biggest footprint … is making the key ingredients in prescription drugs and over-the-counter products. It is the dominant world supplier of the essential ingredients needed to make thousands of medicines found in American homes and used in hospital intensive care units and operating rooms.”[33]
The potential for Chinese mischief is now undeniable. For two decades the Chinese communists have diligently worked to perfect their toxic sabotage capabilities. If anyone doubts the ruthlessness of Chinese officials, one only has to consider China’s global trade in forcibly harvested hearts, kidneys, lungs, etc., taken from more than one million political prisoners “jailed in torture camps.”[34] If China’s leaders do this to their own people, what are Americans to expect? As the authors of China RX explain, the United States is no longer self-sufficient in medicines or over-the-counter products. America’s private market has “handed control over America’s drug supply to China.”[35] Using trade as a weapon, China has become our largest supplier of Active Pharmaceutical Ingredients (APIs). One question stands out: Could Beijing add dangerous toxins to the APIs they sell to America? Who is watching the incoming supply? According to Rosemary Gibson and Janardan Prasad Singh, there is no inspection regime worthy of the name.[36]
When we examine the relationships that exist between U.S. drug labs and China,[37] the CDC and China,[38] Anthony Fauci and China, social media companies and China,[39] a disturbing pattern of collusion emerges. The CDC, by its own admission, has been closely collaborating with the Chinese communists for many years. Last but not least, Anthony Fauci’s agency has admitted to funding gain-of-function work in the same Wuhan Institute of Virology that “leaked” SARS-CoV-2.[40] Meanwhile, Fauci actively tried to “quash” the COVID lab leak theory – “protecting Chinese interests over American lives.”[41] Worse yet, China’s dominance in API production and China’s infiltration of America is almost certainly part of a wider Chinese strategy – calculated, intentional, and planned.
Gen. Rothschild’s scenario of a “special operation with toxic weapons” peeks out from today’s headlines. Yet the U.S. defense establishment seems disinterested. Politicians have not launched an investigation. A retired U.S. military official, consulted on condition of anonymity, explained the situation as follows: “The problem with the U.S. strategic leadership, at the highest levels, is that they are focused on action instead of results. And they are certainly not focused on strategic results. They will talk about Plan Colombia. Yet all the bad guys are still coming up into Colombia. They will talk about operations in Iraq and Afghanistan. But we have nothing to show for all those places we’ve put boots on the ground. That includes Granada and Panama. We do not think in terms of exploiting strategic impacts. China is always thinking of strategic impacts and gains. We are enamored of our technology, our shock and awe. It is a strategic culture of foolishness. And this is not just about military culture. It’s about a political culture, too.” The Secret Speech of Chi Haotian
Many observers suppose that China has no motive for attacking the United States with biological weapons. Yet China’s ruling Communist Party has very strong motives. These are ideological, demographical, and military. Most observers are unaware of defector testimony about a long-range Chinese plan involving secret intelligence and military agreements between China and Russia. According to Col. Stanislav Lunev, a GRU defector who worked in China and spoke fluent Mandarin, the Russians and Chinese formed a secret alliance at the end of the Cold War for the purpose of defeating and occupying the United States and Canada. Lunev was informed of this plan at a meeting of the Russian General Staff after the fall of the Soviet Union. He was told that “the nuclear war plan against America is still on. Russia will invade Alaska and parts of Canada. China will occupy the lower 48 states, with other countries invited in for ‘looting rights.’”[42]
One might be inclined to dismiss Lunev’s claim, yet evidence of Chinese preparations in Mexico have been percolating up from the borderlands for many years. In Scott Gulbransen’s book, The Silent Invasion, we read about Chinese, Russian and Cuban commandos in the Mexican desert. We read about secret arms shipments through the port of Ensenada and coordination between Mexican criminals and the People’s Liberation Army. In fact, some of Gulbransen’s witnesses were threatened and even murdered. In the course of his investigation, Gulbransen was warned against writing about Chinese activity in Mexico by an emotionally unstable Mexican communist, who nevertheless told Gulbransen, “You tell the fat Americans about the real Mexico. You tell them their day to pay is coming fast. Coming very fast.”[43]
Yet the most consequential data point on Chinese plans for North America comes from a secret speech given by Defense Minister Chi Haotian roughly twenty years ago. This speech was delivered before an elite group of CCP cadres. In it, Gen. Chi outlined China’s overpopulation and pollution problems. “China’s great economic expansion,” noted Chi, “will inevitably lead to the shrinkage of per-capita living space for Chinese people, and this will encourage China to turn outward in search for new living space.” Even worse for China, said Chi, “economic development in the last twenty-plus years had a negative impact…. Our resources are in short supply. The environment is severely polluted, especially that of soil, water, and air. Not only our ability to sustain and develop our race, but even its survival is gravely threatened….”
To solve these problems, said Chi, the Chinese people must be taught to “go out.” China’s goal, he said, was the colonization of the lower 48 states of the U.S. after a surprise biological attack.[44] The authenticity of Chi Haotian’s speech has been confirmed by a U.S. military officer who was part of a Pentagon team that studied the speech. Specialists verified that the speech was consistent with Chi’s idiosyncratic way of talking.[45] A senior editor at Epoch Times said that he also believed in the speech’s authenticity. (In 2005 The Epoch Times translated and published the speech on their website.)[46]
Everyone ought to know, by now, that China is not ruled by normal people. As Chinese dissident Harry Wu stated in an interview I did with him 24 years ago, the Chinese leaders are “murderers.” They do not share Western values. Power is what they are after, and they will use every criminal means to enlarge their power. The Chinese economy, noted Chi, was not being built up to raise the living standard of the Chinese people. The Chinese economy was being built for the purpose of waging a future war against America. Once the American people are reduced by a third to two-thirds, the continent will be ripe for a Chinese invasion. Once America is defeated in a biological attack, said Chi, “the western countries of Europe would bow to us, not to mention Taiwan, Japan and other small countries.”
Defense Minister Chi told his elite CCP audience that discretion in these matters was needed. For example, Chinese need for “living space” could not be publicly mentioned because it was “too closely related to Nazi Germany.” Chi added, “The reason we don’t want to discuss this too openly is to avoid the West’s association of us with Nazi Germany, which could in turn reinforce the view that China is a threat.” Of course, said Chi, “right now it is not time to openly break up with [America]…. Our reform and opening to the outside world still rely on their capital and technology, we still need America. Therefore, we must do everything to promote our relationship with America, learn from America in all aspects and use America as an example to reconstruct our country.”
America’s political and business leaders are quite stupid in their dealings with China. They should never have partnered up with Mao’s mass-murdering henchmen. To be so ignorant about communism, given all that is known, is unforgivable. Yes, the Chinese have been deceptive. But our leaders should have been savvy enough to recognize the lies when they first heard them. Chi quotes Deng Xiaoping’s admonition: “Refrain from revealing ambitions and put others off the track.” Chi explained, “we must put up with America; we must conceal our ultimate goals, hide our capabilities, and await the opportunity.” General Chi then described China’s push for Taiwan as a diversion. “[You should] understand why we constantly talk loudly about the ‘Taiwan issue’ but not the “American issue.’ We all know the principle of ‘doing one thing under the cover of another.’ If ordinary people can see the island of Taiwan in their eyes, then you as the elite of our country should be able to see the whole picture of our cause.”
Look at how our analysts all imagine Taiwan will be China’s target of attack. Unfortunately, the main target of attack will be America. The war that General Chi envisions is a biological war. In his speech he said, “If our biological weapons succeed in the surprise attack, the Chinese people will be able to keep their losses at a minimum in the fight against the United States. If, however, the attack fails and triggers a nuclear retaliation from the United States, China would perhaps suffer a catastrophe in which more than half its population would perish. That is why we need to be ready with air defense systems for our big and medium-sized cities.”
According to Chi, the ruling Chinese Communist Party considers biological weapons to be the most important for accomplishing their goal of “cleaning up America.” It is curious that Chi credits Deng Xiaoping with developing this strategy. “When Comrade Xiaoping was still with us,” said Chi, “the Party Central Committee had the perspicacity to make the right decision not to develop aircraft carrier groups and focus instead on developing lethal weapons that can eliminate mass populations of the enemy country.”
It may seem difficult to believe, but Gen. Chi considers himself to be a “humanitarian” communist, and therefore admitted to mixed personal feelings about genocide against America: “I sometimes think how cruel it is for China and the United States to be enemies….” After all, he noted, America helped China in World War II. But none of that matters now, said Chi. “In the long run, the relationship of China and the United States is one of a life-and-death struggle.” This tragic situation must be accepted. According to Chi, “We must not forget that the history of our civilization repeatedly has taught us that one mountain does not allow two tigers to live together.”
In his speech, Gen. Chi provided the key to understanding China’s economic development strategy. According to Chi, “Our economic development is all about preparing for the needs of war!” It is not about improving the life of Chinese people in the short run. It is not about building a consumer-oriented capitalist society. “Publicly,” said Gen, Chi, “we still emphasize economic development as our center, but in reality, economic development has war as its center!”
Now that Russia is mobilizing against Ukraine and Europe, we can expect similar moves from China. Perhaps Iran and North Korea will also be mobilized. The old communist bloc is now revived. The West is taken by surprise. On every side, like children, the pundits and analysts talk about winning the Russians over to our side. They talk as if the situation were not so bad. However, we have not understood the full measure of the disaster. It is a disaster our leaders made love to. And they made love to it for over thirty years. This is what their famous “peace dividend” at the end of the Cold War amounts to. We did not understand the true political orientation of Russia, and we have not understood the true political orientation of China. Now we must learn the hard way. Appendix 1
Memorandum for the CIA [redacted] Subject: Information of COVID 19 Background from a Source in SE Asia
The Director’s comments on Xi Jing Ping’s Intentions with COVID 19, 14 March 2020 are as follows:
1. From beginning the PRC and Communist Party of China’s has intended to produce this kind of virus in total secrecy reinforced by President Xi Jinping’s eagerness to be perceived as a central strongman, backed by a Politburo, CPC.
This weaponized virus was supposed to be for testing in certain areas of Wuhan’s wild animal markets to camouflage its political safety intentions. But unfortunately for China, it was far beyond PRC’s calculations when Wuhan-linked COVID-19 cases were detected in Thailand and South Korea. China then had little choice but to acknowledge the epidemic. There was no accident in a government bio-chem lab, but that the virus was being tested in the wild animal markets in Wuhan. The test had chosen the Wuhan wild animal market to camouflage its sensitive political intentions in case of a leak.
2. As we know that China has strong dominance in global medical supplies and APIs (Pharma Ingredient Supplies), according to my Indian security sources, since mid- 2019, Li Daokui, Chinese economist, proposed to delay Chinese API exports to the US as a countermeasure in the US-China trade war. “Once the export is reduced,” Li noted, “the medical systems of some developed countries will not work.” This is hinted to mean America. This statement from Li indicated the following scenario will be his next step.
3. With this core strategic purpose of withholding or reducing pharmaceutical supplies , a MANAGING TEAM including Daoku Li who has implied this strategy, also serving as the head of Center for China in world economy research, Yongtu Long, personal economic advisor of PRC’s President Xing Jing Ping, and Zhu Yunlai, liason coordinator for the team, was established under the direction of CCP Politburo. The Politburo decided to allow the potential of Wuhan virology institute proceeding with the bio warfare trial virus.
Now with the aggressive blessing of Politburo CCP, the core managing team volunteer their effort to cut short their red tape procedure to fast forward on testing, they had to devote time, energy and removed all bureaucracy to act swiftly and secretly on the agenda.
Here is a brief precise report combined from trilateral regional cooperation on intel on Covid-19 which has been described as mainly aimed at and utilized by PRC for testing American- European political systematic reaction.
Crucial points for the trial are as described below:
a. The Wuhan Virus as designed for its primary purpose is an attempt to overwhelm the western social system to severely disrupt the American and European infrastructure.
b. The Chinese PRC would not want to be caught red handed in doing this to the US., because they recognized they are not yet strong enough to face an all out war with the US. So, they need to be very subtle and cautious in their mode of the attack- trial.
c. The Wuhan virus was not allowed to be produced lethal enough to be classified as a bioweapon, but its objective remains the same, namely, to test the validity of its bio warfare impacts on a large scale. This was for the purpose, if possible, to incapacitate China’s adversaries’ infrastructure (US and Europe) in this pseudo / para-military trial.
This test has been running at one of Wuhan’s bio labs, which had also published a study in 2007 on combining SARS + HIV to create Coronavirus. “In this study, we investigated the receptor usage of the SL-CoVS by combining a human immunodeficiency virus-based pseudo virus system with cell lines expressing the ACE2 molecules of human”. ELI 5:SL-CoVS (= SARs) + human immunodeficiency virus
(= HIV) {See sequencing in figure 1 on page 1901}; SARs + HIV = Coronavirus. Is “SARS + HIV = Coronavirus” [redacted all]
The original name of the research report is unknown, as it would have been carefully modified, revised or even intentionally deleted by certain unseen intel agencies.
10 years later, the same exact virus that the Wuhan manufactured in a lab years ago is infecting thousands of people today with monitoring by the secret managing team members. This is the key tactic applied by China traditional war game, to showcase its victimized people in order avoid its arch-enemy, particularly America pointing finger at them.
The Bottom Line: China and its accomplices (Russia, Cambodia, Iran and Hezbolla) don’t want a bio-weapon that can potentially kill many people quickly. China wants a virus that keeps massive populations with different peoples from various nations in a state of sickness and panic for a long time to overwhelm critical systems and shut down social networks.
At a minimum, this approach should make the majority of global leaders only just “suspecting” without being able to find evidence that fits the typical, standard profile of any other previously known bioweapons.
China and its accomplice don’t want its adversaries and opponents to simply figure out immediately that they have been attacked with a bio weapon, so that their adversaries’ responses are delayed for as long as possible until the virus has damaged a large population of the country to trigger panic en mass.
Only at that real time, China central intel apparatus and its alliance can really evaluate how effective, how smooth, and how united American and European reactions are on an ongoing real bio warfare effort, which may still not be blamed or point finger by any one at China, because its population is also being the victims too. This is a nearly perfect cover up.
General Director SE Asia Team March 14 2020
Additional note
The above-mentioned virus management team, with innermost leading members are:
1.Daoku Li: A visiting scholar at the Center for International Development of the Harvard Kennedy School, Assistant professor at the University of Michigan-Ann Arbor, research fellow at Hoover Institute of the Stanford University. He concurrently serves as head of the Center for China in the World Economy research center.
2. Zhu Yunlai. A Chinese businessman, eldest son of Zhu Rongji, a powerful former Premier of the People’s Republic of China. In 1994, he graduated from the University of Wisconsin, studying atmospheric science serving now as lcoordinator for team to central power house of PRC in this project.
3. Long Yongtu. An influential consultant for PRC president X J P. on the economic decision including PRC ‘s recent Trade deal with America. Long Yongtu was Chief Negotiator for China’s resumption of the General Agreement on Tariffs and Trade (GATT) contracting party status and its accession to the World Trade Organization.
The core team members are considered defunct to maintain their secret portfolio.
Question for clarification: Do you mean that the core team members operate under the cover of their current jobs in order to conceal their true job running the viral team management effort?

Why Trading with Russia and China Is Stupid
By J.R. Nyquist
Last week I wrote about Boris Berezovsky, the Russian billionaire whose death was being investigated by British authorities. In order to understand Berezovsky’s career as the godfather of Russian capitalism, I asked former KGB officer Konstantin Preobrazhenskiy about Berezovsky’s background. Without the slightest hesitation, he said that Berezovsky was a KGB agent who got his wealth from the Communist Party Soviet Union. He added that all the Russian oligarchs had been created in the same manner. To fully grasp the significance of this revelation, readers should imagine what it would signify if every single American billionaire had been set up in business by the FBI, using money taken from the Democratic Party. What kind of capitalism would be established on this basis? And a further question: what kind of trade system is so established?
Continuing my interview of last week, I put these and other questions to Konstantin Preobrazhenskiy, who once worked as a top advisor to the Soviet KGB’s Directorate “T”. According to Preobrazhenskiy, “Russia is not a country of trade. Imperial Russia before 1917 was such a country. The current Russia and USSR, to which she is an inheritor, is a country of espionage.”
I asked Preobrazhenskiy whether he has shared these insights with U.S. policy-makers. “Oh no,” he said with a laugh. “They run from my opinions.” And why does a former KGB officer (who knows the truth of these things firsthand) get the cold shoulder from those he is trying to warn? The West, says Preobrazhenskiy, is the prisoner of its own wishful thinking. “The Myth that the Cold War has ended is the greatest delusion of the West,” he explained. “Let us ask a simple question: When did the Cold War finish – what date? When the armistice agreement was signed? And who admitted defeat?” he asked with a hint of sarcasm.
“Many believe that the Soviet Union was defeated,” the former KGB officer continued. “But maybe it has only gotten smaller. In fact, I do not see a large difference between the current Russia and the Soviet Union. Especially because some of its former republics – independent on paper – are still governed by the Kremlin; and if you try to approach any passerby on the Russian street and ask him if the Cold War is finished, he will tell you that it is not so, and that the U.S. is running the Cold War against Russia. He knows it from Russian state propaganda.”
Considering researcher Kevin E. Freeman’s theory that America’s economy has been intentionally sabotaged by “rogue elements in Communist China and Russia,” I asked about Russian and Chinese efforts to undermine the U.S. economy through trade. “It is impossible to undermine such a great country as the USA through trade,” said Preobrazhenskiy. “But it is possible to be done through espionage, sabotage and other kinds of secret activities. Both Russia and China know America’s vulnerabilities, and they are exploiting them as much as they can.”
But why would Russia and China do this?
“The same question is asked by the counterintelligence heads of Britain and Germany,” replied the former KGB officer. “In their interviews I feel a sincere misunderstanding: ‘Why are Russian spies distracting us from more important work against Chinese spies and Muslim terrorists? Don’t the Russians know that the Cold War has ended?’ I only grin hearing all this because Russia has very good relations both with the Muslims and the Chinese. There is no wonder that the new President of China, Xi Jinping, made his first visit not to the United States, but to Russia; and Putin has rejected the invitation to come to the United States and made his first visit to Belarus, thus demonstrating the idea of reconstructing the USSR. You are also wondering on what ideological basis Russia is spying against American now. It is done on the basis of anti-Americanism. They now see their goal as depriving the U.S. of its global power status. The basis of this anti-Americanism is the ideology of Eurasianism, invented by the NKVD in the 1920s. Now it has become the official ideology of Russia. It proclaims opposition against America on the basis of friendship with Iran and China.”
I asked the former KGB officer about Russia’s commitment to communism. Is communism really dead? And has capitalism really triumphed?
“Russia has never renounced communism!” Preobrazhenskiy exclaimed. “There is no official document where the Russian authorities would have said, ‘We renounce communism and condemn it.’ There was, of course, an attempt to force the renunciation of communism in 1992, when the court case against the Soviet Communist Party began. But very soon a powerful communist lobby crushed it. And this is not all, as I have learned from Vladimir Bukovsky. The trial of communism was terminated at the request of the West, since the West was so deeply involved in flirting with Soviet communism that if it became publicly known it would have caused a scandal. “
I asked if the continuance of communist power in Russia explained Moscow’s willingness to bury the last Tsar while refusing to bury Lenin.
“Russia’s seeming turn away from communism was nothing but a cosmetic operation,” noted Preobrazhenskiy. “The communists have now repainted themselves as democrats; and besides, now many tourists from communist China are arriving at Moscow – and first of all they rush to see Lenin’s body. Some of them say it is the main point of their coming to Moscow. I have seen huge crowds near Lenin’s tomb. How is it possible to bury Lenin after all this? Oh, how naïve the West is!”
Since Preobrazhenskiy worked for the KGB in the Far East recruiting Chinese and Japanese agents, I couldn’t help asking about a possible military alliance between Russia and China. To this he immediately replied, “This alliance already exists.” I asked on what basis this alliance was formed, given the idea that Russia and China were natural rivals.
“China is an ideological enemy of America,” he said. “It can’t be anything except an adversary. On the other hand, both Russia and China enjoy ideological integrity: devotion to communism and hatred of America. Chinese communists understand that the Russians have to put on a mask of democracy before the naïve West; but before China they don’t need this mask and unmask themselves. Both countries do not publicly declare their anti-American alliance. It is a part of their joint activity of deceiving America. You see, ideological integrity is a sufficient frame for such an alliance. As it is not public, it mostly concerns cooperation in some secret spheres. It is intelligence, first of all, in which they cooperate. I am sure there is some agreement between the intelligence services of both Russia and China for undermining America, but it is kept secret.”
There are some readers who will become angry at reading Preobrazhenskiy’s testimony. But Konstantin Preobrazhenskiy is not alone in making these statements. Others from his world have defected and risked their lives to warn Americans. Yet the story is always the same. Americans don’t want to listen to warning messages. It is our determination, as a people, to believe what is convenient and to accept enemy-generated propaganda about ourselves. We want to invest in Russia and China. We want to believe that capitalism has triumphed. But capitalism is dying right here, right now, on American soil. How do we explain this? Have we properly accounted for what is happening? Our long prosperity has spoiled us. Our wealth has inoculated us from the truth. We have now become a people who prefer pleasant lies to unpleasant truths. We had better wake up. There isn’t much time left.
[Author’s note: After writing this piece and another piece about Venezuela’s socialist economy slipping toward collapse, my editor at Financial Sense slapped me on the wrist, denied there was trouble brewing with the Venezuelan economy and forbade me to write anything about Russia for the publication. I was unceremoniously fired from Financial Sense Online at the end of 2013 and no apology was forthcoming when the rapid collapse of the Venezuelan economy became common knowledge.] Notes and Links

A Tactical Aside From Mao Zedong (by J.R.Nyquist)
It is easier to fool people than to convince them that they have been fooled.” Mark Twain
In Dan Kurzman’s fine book, Subversion of the Innocents, we learn that Stalin’s strategy in the early Cold War proved inferior to Mao Zedong’s strategy. Mao’s program was called “The Yenan Way” and relied on a special kind of deception. It was all about disguising communists as agrarian reformers. It involved winning over middle class opportunists, businessmen and the intelligentsia. In primitive areas of the world, like Africa, Mao realized that communist ideology did not matter – so there was every reason to ignore Marxist doctrines. Everything was reduced to anti-Americanism or anti-European imperialism. As Kurzman explained, “The central purpose of the Yenan Way is actually not so much to gain mass support as to win over influential noncommunist ‘friends,’ particularly in the political field, who can open channels for infiltration in the highest councils of the nation. Such friends are obtained by any means that will work – lies, flattery, threats, blackmail, bribery, or outright purchase.”
Mao’s policy in the Third World should sound familiar, for it is now the subversion policy of communism everywhere, including the United States. We saw it in the rise of Castro and Ho Chi Minh, of course, and more recently with the rise of Hugo Chavez in Venezuela and now Pedro Castillo in Peru. In fact, the Yenan Way has been at work in Peru for over 60 years; for there is a book by Eudocio Ravines, a former Peruvian communist leader who turned against Marxism. His book is titled The Yenan Way. In his book, Ravines recalls Mao’s advice to him, in which the fine points of the Yenan strategy are described. Here is what Mao told Ravines:
“The greatest talent in this work, comrade, is never to be associated with failure. Never to defend the weak even when he is right. Never to attack the pillager of the treasury if he is the owner of a great fortress. He might crush you and there’s no use being a martyr. Our experience, the experience of the Yenan Way, is this: people like doctors, generals, dentists, town mayors … do not love power for itself; much less for the good they can do with it. They want [power] for the wealth in can bring. They achieve power and then they begin to call out like Napoleon for money, money, and again money. Get this through your head, comrade. If we help these people, if we are a ladder for them because it suits us as well, then it would be absurd for us to stay their hands, sew up their pockets, or check their greed. If we did this, they would turn against us and try to crush us. That happened with Chaing in 1927 – we tried to play the moralist and he hurled all his power against us.”
Mao continued: “Let them get rich today. Very soon we can expropriate everything. The more help they get from us in their pillage, the more positions they will let us take and occupy; they will help us to capture them and even to extend them. Of course, there are two important things to remember. Never participate in any fraud or plundering, which is more difficult than you might think; and carry out your collaboration without the people’s knowledge, without leaving any proof of it for your enemies to find. This delights your robber friends, of course. For your integrity leaves more for them to divide among a larger number of fellow rogues.”
Mao continued: “Here are two things. The first is that this tiny man, this noncommunist who, thanks to our arrangements, is chosen selectman or municipal councilor, will find the way easier when the party wants to elect a deputy or capture the mayorality. Then the public won’t elect the radical, but the communist. The end remains the same; the means change according to our power. This method seems slower, but it is actually quicker and surer.”
Mao continued: “Now for the second. Any person who receives our support and does not fulfill his part of the bargain must become the target for frontal attack of pitiless ferocity. It is enough to make an example of one; once they see that we can bar the path to a man, that we have the power to destroy him utterly, the rest will be afraid not to play our game. We communists have never given this fear enough weight. I don’t know why. The ambitious petit bourgeois taken with the fever of greed feels real anguish when we strike him hard. He must be really destroyed with every arm at hand, [and] be left a wretched tatter at the end.”
When Latin American communists saw the value of Mao’s advice, to make the greedy their servants, he reproved them further: “That, especially that – servants. People who serve us through greed, through fear, through inferiority, vengeance, what have you , but who serve us. Serve the party, serve the designs of the Comintern, serve the cause of the Revolution. Congratulations … you have caught the very essence of the Yenan Way.”
In the politics of who benefits (cui bono), nearly everyone is quick to assume that simple greed is at work. But this is not the case today. When you see the success of outrageous greed, stop and ask yourself if the communist power is furthering its position through the greedy actors in question. I strongly suspect, in the dishonest transactions of many large businesses and politicians, the communists are somewhere present. They are helping in the transaction from behind the scenes, and they are taking up key positions. And now we ought to ask, when we see who is profiting from the COVID-19 pandemic, (which was started in China), is the Yenan Way at work? Notes and Links

Empire of Lies, Part IV Exploiting the Dialectic of Right and Left Commentary for 16 June 2014 (by J.R.Nyquist)
Individuals marked primarily by Class I (Combinations) residues are the “Foxes” of Machiavelli. They live by their wits; they put their reliance on fraud, deceit, and shrewdness. They do not have strong attachment to family, church, nation, and traditions (though they may exploit these attachments in others). They live in the present, taking little thought of the future, and are always ready for change, novelty, and adventure. In economic affairs, they incline toward speculation, promotion, innovation. They are not adept, as a rule, in the use of force. They are inventive and chance-taking. - James Burnham, The Machiavellians (p. 237-8)
In parts I-III we have seen how the Empire of Lies advances on all fronts, at home and abroad. Big Government Socialism is, of course, the heart of modernity’s Big Lie, where God is dead and unchecked political power forms the basis of a monstrous new religion disguised as “science.” This new religion rises up on every side. Its adherents dominate the media, education, government and the arts. This religion decries the wickedness of all who eschew social conscience, and who advance the “dismal science” of economic principle, or who adhere to God and country.
The new religion curses the following: the nation state, traditional folkways, market economics, and the liberty toward which these organic formations tend. In place of the old God they have put forward a number of candidates: first among these (1) the people; (2) the proletariat; (3) non-whites; (4) women; (5) the planet; (6) and homosexuals. Each of these false Gods, depicted as the crucified victims of a wicked capitalist patriarchy, are set up in honored pity; as hero-victims whose plight justifies the Great Revolution.
The socialist is said to weep, as Jesus wept. But this same crocodile, with row upon row of sharp teeth, will distill its tears however it may; yet these are crocodile tears all the same, shed so as to lure more victims. The socialist crocodile promises that the lion will lie down with the lamb, and he promises prosperity; but his policy (in the end) delivers the exact opposite. The lamb, of course, will be eaten by the crocodile.
It was Eric Voegelin who once likened our new political religion to Gnosticism as a “type of thinking that claims absolute cognitive mastery of reality. Relying as it does on a claim to gnosis, Gnosticism considers its knowledge not subject to criticism.” First comes political speculation (of the revolutionary kind). Next, this speculation is turned into action and policy – in order to bring Heaven on Earth. In doing this, wrote Voegelin, the Gnostics reject traditional religion and the Kingdom of God, replacing it with a political kingdom on earth. In trying to build such a kingdom the poor fools Immanentize the Eschaton. Voegelin wrote:
All gnostic movements are involved in the project of abolishing the constitution of being, with its origin in the divine, transcendent being, and replacing it with a world-immanent order of being, the perfection of which lies in the realm of human action. This is a matter of so altering the structure of the world, which is perceived as inadequate, that a new, satisfying world arises.
But the world, says Voegelin, “remains as it is given to us, and it is not within man’s power to change its structure.” Thus, the bearded man in the dress cannot become a woman. A tribal creature cannot, in any true sense, become a global citizen. And a fool is not equal to the wise. Whatever liberal or socialist principles you champion, the structure of the world is given. Your "ideas" cannot change what is. Voegelin wrote:
In order … to make [change] appear possible, every gnostic intellectual who drafts a program to change the world must first construct a world picture from which those essential features of the constitution of being that would make the program appear hopeless and foolish have been eliminated.
In other words, he builds lies upon lies. Thus is built the Empire of Lies, which is predicated on a new religion of lies. According to Voegelin, "we may speak, then, of the pneumopathological condition of a thinker who, in his revolt against the world as it has been created by God, arbitrarily omits an element of reality in order to create a fantasy of a new world.” In order to achieve this, the deceiver must have a large following of dupes. Thus the Empire of Lies is simultaneously an Empire of Stupidity – or a confederation of dunces, as it were. To view this with a sharper eye, consider Robert Musil’s 1937 lecture titled “On Stupidity,” which holds that people don’t want to appear too clever since this is a sign of stupidity. Doubtless the average man believes in his own cleverness, but keeps it hidden while someone playing a public role (like your favorite politician) “says or has said about himself that he is inordinately clever, inspired, dignified, gracious, chosen by God, and destined for History.” In this way the most foolish, brutal, even idiotic megalomaniac appropriates to himself wisdom, virtue, courage, nobility, etc. And since the masses hate to show how clever they really are, the masses are obliged to go along with the aforesaid megalomaniac.
Look at the man (or woman) who is leading your country today; then consider the people who voted for him, and who revere him no matter what he does. A new religion has taken hold indeed: an Empire of Lies, an Empire of Deceptions, an Empire of ready dupes. We are now supposed to think that things would have gone right if the Indians had pushed the European settlers into the sea. We are supposed to believe that California, in all truth, belongs to Mexico. We are supposed to eliminate the automobile, because the automobile is melting the icecaps and destroying the habitat of the Polar Bear. Everything about our past, and who we are, must cease to matter. We ourselves must cease to exist. That is the wisdom of the hour. This is how we immanentize the Eschaton, bringing on the winepress of the wrath of God while stupidly believing we have heralded the New Jerusalem.
Of course, you may trot out that nonsense about Communism being dead. Or you may trot out the nonsense about Nazism being dead. If socialism (national or international) looks dead to you, it is nonetheless coming for you. From the demonic Karl Marx to the paranoiac Stalin we moderns have descended to the pernicious Obama and the duplicitous Putin (not to mention the disastrous leaders of Germany, France, Italy, Britain, etc.). What began in a bold revolutionary manifesto under Marx now crawls or drags itself toward us, by way of subterfuge, under the auspices of false advertising. The old demagogy having died, it is now necessary for the socialists to lie about their real objectives. The new socialist “hero” is identified with the very objects (and beliefs) he intends to destroy – as Obama pretends to defend capitalism and America while Putin pretends to defend Orthodox Christianity and Russia. The destructive power of their respective deceptions now lies in the dialectic of manipulating both Left and Right. For this is the synthesis to which their thesis and antithesis tend: abject nihilism, total leveling, and contempt for humanity. (To paraphrase Little Red Riding Hood’s reaction: “My grandma, what big teeth you have!” -- set in two rows, dialectically positioned for chewing.)
No image better depicts the heart and soul of today’s wolfish vanguard than that of Obama chewing gum at the Normandy commemoration on 6 June 2014. In the case of Putin, take any image you care from the violence in eastern Ukraine. Both men self-advertise as non-socialist, or non-Communist. Trevor Loudon has amply demonstrated Obama’s Communist and socialist ties. The KGB officer in the Kremlin needs no further proof of his socialist credentials than that of his own answer to a Cuban journalist some years ago when asked if he was a Communist. “Call me a pot,” he said, “but heat me not.” It is now part of the formula of Communist power to deny any adherence to Communism.
Enter, stage, Right, in Europe – a nationalist resurgence. We cannot call it “conservative” in the economic sense, or in the strictly cultural sense. At moments we fear it may be “conservative” in the National Socialist sense, which would signify no kind of conservatism at all. Once upon a time the political compass of the Left pointed to Moscow. Today the political compass of the European Right also points to Moscow. German researcher Torsten Mann, author of Weltoktober, recently wrote to me about the political shift ongoing in Europe. He began his explanation with a long quote from the Czechoslovak Communist defector, Jan Sejna:
Europe was the principal area in which to reduce US influence in the free world. The Russians planned to play upon the nationalists, bourgeois prejudices of the leading European countries in order to convince them that Europe must strive to become a distinct entity, separate from the United States. This mood must reach beyond any debate on the political union of Europe as envisaged in the Treaty of Rome. The first casualty of this new nationalism would be the NATO alliance. The withdrawal of US forces might be postponed by separate treaties with Germany and Great Britain, but in the end the Russians expected the Americans to retire completely. The Russians predicted that this withdrawal would have a profoundly disturbing effect on the United States, and would greatly encourage the growth of isolationism. (We Will Bury You p.154f)
Then he proceeded to put Sejna’s message into perspective:
Sejna wrote this in 1982 and of course this statement is based on the strategic plan as he knew it in 1968. This quote proves to me that there is a decades old sub-strategy with which the Soviets wanted to get control over Europe using a rightist approach. Probably they realized that they wouldn't be able to convince the European peoples to revoke the transatlantic alliance by using only a leftist approach. As I told you last time, I'm convinced that the European Union was a Soviet project from the beginning. The EU is the implementation of Gorbachev's "Common European Home" and Vitaly Shurkin is the chief witness for this and it corresponds to the fact that the current European Union is leftist to the core. But Sejna wrote also that the Soviets weren't sure in which direction the masses would turn once the United States slipped into depression. [Konstantin] Katushev said that the society might also "swing violently to the right.” I think this is also true for Europe. Not knowing which path society would take in the end, it is absolutely logical to develop a twofold approach, that means to prepare not only a leftist political echelon but also a rightist one and use them dialectically. Let the leftist echelon begin the political offensive, wait for the defensive reaction of the conservative European citizens who are … disgusted by the socialist subversion of their society and then, before any real authentic opposition takes form, offer them a controlled rightist political alternative that promises a solution for the problems which were caused by the leftist approach such as moral corruption, immigration, loss of national sovereignty, economic ruin etc. Once the public is utterly disgusted the controlled rightist opposition steps in, gets popularity and takes power. This rightist opposition addresses the problems and solves some of them (or maybe even intensifies them, e.g. ethnic tensions) creating a smokescreen of popularity that helps to hide the hidden agenda which is still advanced further. The ultimate goal would be the cancellation of the transatlantic alliance and rapprochement between Western Europe and Russia. Communists always work dialectically.
It's an undeniable fact that Europe is haunted by many problems and it seems to me that our current political elite, both our "conservatives" and our socialists, do not even try to solve them. For example, there is the problem of immigration. Europe is importing criminals in large quantities who are committing welfare fraud, burglaries and violent crimes … and no one really seems to care about it. The exceptionally high rate of Muslim criminality in Germany is deliberately covered up by the media and politicians. Then of course Europe has huge financial problems that are not addressed in a sensible way. Instead they are aggravated deliberately it seems. Germany is artificially made energy-dependent on other states. We are especially dependent on Russian gas and there are rumors that we have become dependent on Russian nuclear-energy also. Large parts of our industry went to Eastern Europe and Red-China long ago, leaving many unemployed skilled workers behind. Only a very small perverted minority in Germany is keen on gay marriages and "gender mainstreaming" and so on, but our politicians, including our "conservatives,” make a main political topic out of it. People get disgusted with such things and this is the very moment when Russian propaganda steps in and offers an alternative to the predominant "liberal western decadence.” Alexander Dugin [the Russian ideologist] is promoting this, and our so called "rightist" and conservatives fall for it. Compare this to the success of Alex Jones in the U.S. If there was someone like Ronald Reagan today, Jones would not be able to deceive so many people. Our Western conservatives are corrupted and this is the breeding ground for Russian controlled pseudo-conservatives who pursue a hidden Soviet agenda. So why are our traditional conservatives corrupted? Andrei Sakharov wrote in 1968 in his manifesto, "Reflections on Progress, Peaceful Coexistence, and Intellectual Freedom," that the Western peoples should be reeducated to change their "psychological attitude" towards a socialist mindset. This is exactly what has happened. In Germany it is called "Kampf gegen Rechts.” In the U.S. it is implemented by way of "political correctness.” This psycho-political assault undermined support for real conservative politicians one or two decades ago and the resulting gap is now being filled by Russian controlled pseudo-conservatives.
Furthermore, the current advance of the European right should be seen against the background of [several] overall geopolitical developments. In the East, Putin’s "Eurasian Union" is taking form while Russia and China are signing an energy-deal excluding the use of U.S.-Dollars. It seems the western gold reserves drain off towards Red China and Russia while the economic recovery in America seems to be fragile. Kevin Freeman warns that the expected attack against the U.S.-Dollar is accelerating and therefore maybe we will see another financial crash like the one in 2008 soon. This could be the very moment when Russia and China together with the other BRICS-states announce the introduction of a new gold-backed reserve currency. If anything like this happens and if Russia demands gold-backed currency for oil and gas, the political temptation to orient the European Union eastwards could become irresistible. In other words, the Russians could resort to some kind of cooperation-blackmail, demanding political concessions for deliveries of energy. In my view, the "rightists" who are on the advance right now are suitable collaborators for the Kremlin's "Eurasian" ambitions.
There are so many gems in Torsten Mann’s analysis that, with his permission, I have presented it in full. Please read it, and reread it. In a subsequent post, Torsten further stated that the corruption of the West is exactly what the Soviets sought in the first place. He quoted Sejna once more: “The main strategic purpose of Phase Three, 'The Period of Dynamic Social Change', was, in the words of the Soviet directive, 'to smash the hope of false democracy' and bring about the total demoralization of the West." (We Will Bury You p.107) He then commented as follows:
This is exactly what we experience nowadays, the total demoralization of our Western societies, certainly caused by hidden communist structures and which the Soviet strategists (e.g. Dugin) still exploit for furthering their strategy. I always try to encourage my fellow countrymen to read Sejna's book. It is breathtaking to see how the history of the last three decades corresponds to the Soviet’s strategic plans which were revealed by Sejna in 1982. Unfortunately most of my fellow countrymen refuse to take notice and admit that there has been some kind of communist coordination behind events. And therefore I have to agree, as you once wrote, the public is indeed stupid.
Now we return, once more, to the problem of stupidity – to the aforementioned confederation of dunces who form the main constituency of the Empire of Lies. The whole thing comes together, I suppose, in the understanding that the political strategist in pursuit of raw power doesn’t really believe in anything to begin with. If he talks like a socialist during the past year we may find him spouting conservatism next year. Therefore, we have to keep an eye out. We have to watch what people do and avoid being fooled by what they allegedly “believe.” You cannot measure a person’s belief. You cannot taste it. You cannot photograph it. But if an evil politician is allowed to fool you, and if he gets power over Europe or America, there may be plenty of death and devastation to objectively measure.
We must never forget that the attending lust for power behind all these phenomena originates in the desire to reorder the universe; that is, to challenge God or become a god. The core motivation is therefore always revolutionary in essence, even if it wears a “conservative” mask.

A Short History of Communist Subversion of America By J.R. Nyquist September 18, 2018 Updated: September 19, 2018
The U.S. government was first penetrated by communist agents in the 1930s. This was documented by congressional investigations and by authors such as M. Stanton Evans, Herbert Romerstein, Diana West, and former U.S. President Herbert Hoover (among others).
The communists greatly benefited from the election of President Franklin Roosevelt in 1933. It was Roosevelt who opened diplomatic relations with Moscow, even as he welcomed “progressives” into government. Prior to his inauguration, Roosevelt was warned by his predecessor, President Herbert Hoover, about two ongoing Soviet conspiracies: a massive Soviet counterfeiting operation that threatened the U.S. dollar; and an attempt to overthrow the U.S. government by mobilizing angry veterans through the “Bonus Army.”
Hoover’s warnings were ignored by Roosevelt, who saw nothing wrong with communism. Evans and Romerstein have pointed out that Roosevelt’s recognition of the Soviet Union gave an aura of legitimacy to the communists, helping them to “create formidable networks of apparatchiks on American soil.”
In 1938, a special House Committee on Un-American Activities was appointed under the chairmanship of Rep. Martin Dies (D-Texas). When the Committee sought to investigate communist involvement with an important labor union, the White House summoned Dies to a meeting with the president.
Arriving at the White House, Dies found Roosevelt chatting with Sen. John Sheppard (D-Texas). After Dies entered, Roosevelt turned to Sheppard and said, “Senator, what are we going to do about Martin?” The senator was confused by the question, so Roosevelt clarified: “You know, all this business about investigating communists is a serious mistake.” Roosevelt then told Dies he didn’t want any investigations of that kind.
The communist infiltration that began in the 1930s accelerated after the United States allied itself with Stalin in World War II. FBI and congressional investigations show that many hundreds of Soviet agents and Communist Party members worked for the U.S. government during the war.
“In due course, many such pro-Soviet operatives rose to fairly high positions,” wrote Evans and Romerstein, “which made their allegiance to Moscow even more problematic.”
Under Roosevelt’s leadership, communist subversion was bound to thrive. By 1939, the communists had established at least four important “cells” inside the U.S. government. According to Hoover, “These Communist informers gained strategic positions in the armed services, in almost every civil department, on the staffs of some Congressional committees and even had access to the White House.”
Hoover called it “an onslaught” against the American people. There is detailed information about that because four communist agents came forward as witnesses. These were, in order of importance, Whittaker Chambers, Elizabeth Bentley, Louis Budenz, and Hede Massing.
Not surprisingly, when some of this testimony became public in 1948, the U.S. government attempted a coverup. Rather than expelling communist agents from sensitive government jobs, the Truman administration wanted to prosecute Chambers for perjury. Meanwhile, Bentley’s testimony, which was given to a grand jury over a period of several months, resulted in not a single indictment. The Justice Department (DOJ), then as now, was more inclined to protect communist subversives than prosecute them.
There is no better example of DOJ malfeasance than the Amerasia scandal, which began in 1945. To tell the story briefly, it came to the FBI’s attention that a pro-communist magazine, Amerasia, had quoted material from classified government documents—specifically, from a secret OSS memo.
The subsequent FBI probe discovered that a State Department official, John Stewart Service, was supplying the magazine with confidential information. When the FBI moved in to arrest three of those involved, investigators discovered more than 1,000 government documents at Amerasia’s offices.
FBI Director J. Edgar Hoover said the case was “airtight,” but the DOJ, contrary to the evidence, took a different view. According to FBI records, two White House officials and several persons at the DOJ manipulated a grand jury to “fix” the case.
Grand jury tampering is a serious crime, and Hoover was undoubtedly alarmed. In 1965, Budenz would explain that Hoover was destined to become irrelevant, that vigilance against communism had become unacceptable to the establishment. Therefore, Sen. Joseph McCarthy (R-Wisc.) was made to be an example. Who then would be brave enough to stand against the Washington “swamp?”
Roosevelt opened the door to communist subversion, and it has remained open ever since. President Harry S. Truman decried Congress’s investigation into this subversion, calling it “a red herring.” President Dwight Eisenhower didn’t want an investigation of the U.S. Army. Perhaps, he feared the public would discover that his former deputy, Gen. Walter Bedell Smith, had fallen under suspicion as a Soviet agent while heading the CIA. Like Truman, Eisenhower preferred to hide the truth.
President John F. Kennedy and his brother Robert didn’t like the security protocols that kept their leftist friends out of sensitive government jobs. The same can be said of President Johnson. President Richard Nixon hired Henry Kissinger, but Kissinger was accused by a British double agent of working for Soviet military intelligence.
Once the communists entered the government, it was too late to fix the problem by normal, parliamentary means. An honest person in government isn’t on a level playing field with a communist in government; the communist has no moral strictures or scruples, and can destroy you with the very power of the office at his disposal. An honest man wouldn’t think to abuse his office in this manner.
To make matters worse, the “watchdog” media is no watchdog at all. Communists have infiltrated newspapers and the major television networks, and if someone were to try to blow the whistle on communist subversion today, they would be denounced as a “McCarthyist.”
The media, to some extent, has twisted the public mind. The lies that have been told with regard to communism and anti-communism are too many to count. The cynical calculation behind these falsehoods is rooted in past success. The communists have fooled the public again and again. Who can stop them?
Throughout the government, proper security measures have long since been set aside. In the 1960s, those who attempted to hold the line against communist infiltration, like Otto Otepka of the State Department, found themselves prosecuted by that same DOJ that tampered with a grand jury in the Amerasia case.
In the words of the former CIA counterintelligence expert James Angleton, “I never understood the great advantage the Russians had over us…. As Americans, we just hold no real value in secrecy. God, it was such a simple explanation.”
We want to feel good about our situation, but we ought to feel the sting of shame. We are tempted, day after day, to falsify and evade. The “big lie” of our time, of course, is the lie of communism; or rather, the many pleasing falsifications that communism promotes. We stand at the brink of an abyss.
President Donald Trump is under siege. To understand the why of it, we must first understand the history of communist subversion: The deep state is the communist fifth column, and the communist fifth column is the deep state.

A Thousand-And-One Traitors By J.R.Nyquist
One of the biggest stories of 2001 was the arrest of a leading FBI counterintelligence official, Robert Hanssen, who spied for the Russians from 1985 to 2001. Actually Hanssen first traded information to the Russians long before that. His wife caught him counting $20,000 in the basement of their house and made him promise to stop "playing spy." She also made him confess his sin to their local priest, Fr. Robert P. Bucciarelli.
Even before Hanssen's golden years as a Soviet mole began (in 1985) two people knew that Hanssen had broken his oath as an FBI agent. Two people knew he had committed treason - his wife and his priest. But neither turned him in. The wife put her family ahead of her country. The priest put his vows ahead of the lives that treachery would later claim.
By 1985 Hanssen was routinely trading vital U.S. intelligence documents for cash. He even had a secret Swiss bank account. But who would dare suggest that Hanssen was a traitor? His colleagues in the FBI saw him as a religious conservative. Only a Russian immigrant named Vladimir Azbel saw through Hanssen's bluff facade. Working part-time as a translator in the FBI's New York counterintelligence unit, Azbel noticed that Hanssen was mishandling and misinterpreting classified information on Russia.
Azbel reported Hanssen's improper behavior to FBI authorities. He also said that Russian "journalists" were sneaking into the FBI's offices in New York. So what did the FBI hierarchy do?
They forced Azbel to take a lie detector test.
No investigation was opened against Hanssen. Loud snoring was the only discernible sound from the Bureau regarding his case. A few years passed and there appeared yet another informant who filed a negative report on Hanssen in 1990. In fact, it was Hanssen's own brother-in-law, Mark Wauck, who noticed that Hanssen "was hiding thousands of dollars in cash" and "spending too much money for someone on an FBI salary."
Wauck was not only Hanssen's brother-in-law, he was also an FBI official who reported his suspicions. But to Wauck's surprise no investigation was started. His information about Hanssen was ignored. Here again we see that problems run deep at the FBI. By looking at the Hanssen case we can see that America's intelligence services are inept. Even when evidence and testimony emerges the FBI will not open an investigation. When a Russian translator makes an accusation, when other FBI agents (like Wauck) see a problem, nothing is done. And this is typical of American counterintelligence organizations.
In the 1980s a Navy petty officer named Glenn Souther stole the U.S. Navy's nuclear war plans (among other items). Souther's wife, after divorcing him, had warned the Office of Naval Intelligence about her husband. Why did she suspect him? He was reading Marxist books and talking communism, she told a Navy investigator. There were also frequent absences from home without explanation. But the Office of Naval Intelligence dismissed the wife's suspicions without further inquiry.
One casts about for a way to explain American incompetence at counter-espionage. What accounts for this laxness, this repeated failure of the FBI, CIA and the military?
The root of this problem might be called "the McCarthy factor." Our people and our institutions have long been conditioned by the notion that Joseph McCarthy was evil and paranoid - a vile witch-hunter. Think of the cultural impact of this anti-McCarthy message. Looking back on the success of Russian penetration operations in subsequent decades, McCarthy's loss was Moscow's gain.
And now for the biggest spy story of all, which comes to us at the end of a year that began with Hanssen's arrest. According to Charles R. Smith at Newsmax.com, "the FBI has stumbled on the largest espionage ring ever discovered inside the United States." We are talking, of course, about a possible Mossad or Russian intelligence operation. (Readers should recall that many Israeli citizens are actually from the "former" Soviet Union).
Approximately 100 Israeli citizens are being held by the U.S. Justice Department. Implicated in espionage, these Israelis have been tied to foreign criminal and intelligence groups (e.g., the Russian mafia and Russian military intelligence). The emphasis here should be on the word "criminal," since Russia is now the world's center for organized crime.
Two Israeli-owned companies have also been implicated. The companies in question are responsible for performing, according to Smith, "almost all of the official wiretaps for U.S. local, state and federal law enforcement."
For those familiar with the history of U.S. surveillance and counterintelligence this is not too surprising. The American bunglers are up to their old tricks (if incompetence could be classified as a "trick"). People wonder how a few Arabs with box-cutters could hijack four aircraft and kill thousands, causing billions of dollars in damage. Well, you can stop wondering.
For those readers worried about government wiretaps the news is far worse than the most paranoid conspiracy theories would have suggested. All this time there was no threat of the U.S. government spying on us. It was the Russian mafia, Mossad and the GRU that had free reign to tap telephones and listen to calls. The Russians and their criminal networks, having penetrated key Israeli-owned companies, went on to penetrate U.S. law enforcement at its intelligence-gathering center.
According to Charlie Smith's report, it now appears that foreign agents were allowed to direct U.S. domestic wiretaps. Criminals and spies, working together, reversed the government's surveillance mechanisms by illegally monitoring U.S. intelligence and law enforcement operations, feeding information to the criminals and foreign agents rather than to the Justice Department. "The illegal monitoring may have resulted in the deaths of several informants and reportedly spoiled planned anti-drug raids on crime syndicates," reports Smith. (We should also think back to Bill Clinton's phone sex with Monica Lewinsky. Wasn't there something, mentioned by Bill to Monica, about a foreign intelligence service listening in on government phone lines?)
Americans may think kindly of Russian President Vladimir Putin for promising to shut down the KGB's listening post at Lourdes, Cuba. But why should Putin need such a listening post when the Department of Justice itself has become a Russian front company?
The message from these and other recent stories is clear: America had better wake up and get serious about counterintelligence. Today the FBI struggles to locate nuclear weapons that may have been smuggled into the U.S. by terrorists. Does anyone think the FBI is up to the job?
It now appears we are about to learn a hard lesson. Our banking, our stock market - not to mention law enforcement - are totally vulnerable to clandestine foreign operators. It is not simply a question of terrorism. There are issues of economic sabotage to be explored as well.
Treason is a serious problem in our country. Foreign influence is also a problem. Only now are we attempting to find solutions. But we are doing so in the wrong way. It is pathetic to see, for example, so much attention focused on an insignificant and misguided kid who ran off to join the Taliban while serious traitors, spies and moles go unobserved and unpunished in our very midst. We rub elbows with scores of traitors here in the United States every day - we tolerate them, we promote them, we let them teach our kids, give them trusted positions in the FBI and contracts with the Justice Department!
But we want to execute a dumb ineffectual kid.
Again, our incompetence in this business is a national trait. One can only conclude that Americans are children when it comes to national strategy. The only thing that has saved us, to date, is our fabulous wealth. But even that cannot remain if we continue to ply a bunglers path.

Opening Moscow's Bag of Political and Strategic Tricks Commentary for 9 September 2014 By J.R.Nyquist
Political correctness was invented by Marxists to destroy Western society from inside…. And in Russia, there is no political correctness at all! The reason is that Marxists do not need to undermine the Russian society from the inside, because it is already Marxist. – Konstantin Preobrazhensky, “How the West Was Fooled by Vladimir Putin”
In order to understand what is happening in Ukraine it's useful to consider Moscow's bag of political and strategic tricks. It is our failure to understand these tricks that causes us to misread Russian moves and intentions. As an aside, we might ask if our current approach of threatening economic sanctions is entirely realistic given Russia's agents and friends in our midst? There is something odd, after all, in an economic system as vulnerable as ours going after a state (Russia) with a long history of semi-autarky.
The sanctions against Russia are undoubtedly necessary, but is big business willing to give up on the Russian market? Would any politician act against the interests of big business in this regard? Again, we must not underestimate the influence Russia has within our own economy. Furthermore, even if sanctions are politically feasible against Russia, the West has made itself vulnerable to Russian counter-measures; for Russia is the capital of international organized crime and, as such, it is an international clearing house for the blackmail of politicians, the corruption of banks through money-laundering, the infiltration of the CIA and FBI, and is the center of a conspiracy to weaken U.S. dollar. One might ask, given the tools available to the Russian strategists, how can they fail?
Then there is Russia’s military potential. With regard to major opponents, the West seriously underestimated its enemies twice during the last century: first in 1939 when the Allies believed they had boxed in Nazi Germany with their “guarantee” to Poland; and again, with sanctions on Japan in 1941. In the first instance Germany smashed Poland and crushed France. In the second instance, Japan destroyed the American fleet at Pearl Harbor, defeated the U.S. forces in the Philippines and captured the British forces in Singapore.
Some may argue that Russians are not as capable as Germans and Japanese. After all, Russia is a backward country; the Russian economy stinks; Russian equipment is obsolete and their people are demoralized. Even more egregious, Russian commanders are political stooges. But wait! Russia put the first man into space. Russia launched the first satellite. Russia built the first operational version of the hydrogen bomb. Let's not make the mistake of underestimating Russia.
Adolf Hitler underestimated Russia. Oh yes, in 1942, out of the mouth of Hitler himself, in a recorded conversation with Baron Mannerheim, we find the following words:
Mannerheim: What they had in their stocks!
Hitler: Absolutely ... well ... if somebody had told me that a nation [the USSR] could start with 35,000 tanks, then I'd have said: 'You are crazy!'
Mannerheim: [surprised] Thirty-five?
Hitler: Thirty-five thousand tanks.
Another voice in background: Thirty-five thousand!
Hitler: We have destroyed - right now - more than 34,000 tanks. If someone had told me this, I'd have said ... ' You are crazy; you see ghosts.' This I would have deemed [not] possible. I told you earlier we found factories, one of them at Kramatorskaja, for example. Two years ago there were just a couple hundred [tanks]. We didn't know anything. Today there is a tank plant, where - during the first shift a little more than 30,000, and 'round the clock a little more than 60,000 workers would have labored - a single tank plant! A gigantic factory! Masses of workers who certainly, lived like animals and...
Russia had 35,000 tanks in 1941? This unimaginable number was several times greater than all tanks possessed by the combatants of World War II up to that time. And what is more interesting, before the Germans made their unpleasant discovery nobody had any inkling that such a number of tanks was possible let alone real. It was only by the successful surprise attack of 22 June 1941 that these tanks were destroyed and captured. Had these tanks been used to deliver a first strike against Hitler, the whole of Europe would have become Soviet territory.
If any expert today says he knows the real military strength of Russia, or claims to understand Russia's military capabilities, he is likely to be wrong. And let us not dwell on tank numbers. Tank armies are no longer decisive. Missiles are decisive. Terrorists are decisive; that is to say, “terrorist armies” converging on the oil fields of the Middle East. Mind control drugs are decisive. A new biological weapon may be decisive.
Consider, then, the strategic weakness which exists on the American side. The strategic position of the United States has long been compromised by the idiocy of America’s ideological hobby-horses – global warming, feminism, homosexual rights, multiculturalism and internationalism. The way policy is run in the United States, political correctness comes first and national security comes second. This goes for the economy as well, where Political correctness has bankrupted us. And it is this same politically correct country, with its increasingly fragile economy, which is now called upon to confront Russia after a period of military dismantling and downsizing.
In recent days there has been a flood of information pouring out of Ukraine about Russia’s plans, the intricacies of the crisis itself, and what the military clashes between Russian/separatist and Ukrainian patriotic forces have wrought. On Monday there were reports of Russian preparations to invade and capture the important port city of Odessa.
Are the Russians bluffing? We are in the fog of war, so to speak, with glimpses here and there. To understand the larger picture we need to acknowledge three points about Russian policy: (1) Russia's ruling group acts as a conspiracy against everyone, including against Russia itself; (2) Moscow's ongoing references to the evil machinations of the West (i.e., the U.K. and United States in particular) represent a kind of mirror imaging common to totalitarian regimes; (3) the enormity of military aggression against neighboring peoples – first Chechnya , then Georgia, then Ukraine’s eastern and southern provinces is very real. This latter aggression is only understandable when we realize that Ukraine's independence is a fiction to Moscow. “Ukraine is not a real country,” Putin has said. And he is perfectly serious. One day France will not be a country as well, and Germany.
I believe the course of events is dictated by a Leninist and Stalinist political culture which has grown out of the precedents of czarism and Bolshevism, involving a bag of tricks in which six elements are used to achieve political and economic results: (1) provocation; (2) divide and conquer; (3) infiltration of the enemy camp; (4) disinformation; (5) controlled opposition; (6) and strategic deception. Various special formations and ideological sub-weapons have been developed by Moscow to amplify the working power of these six elements, including organized crime, drug trafficking, international terrorism, national liberation movements, revolutionary Islam, free trade, global warming, feminism, the homosexual movement, gun control and multiculturalism.
The government in Moscow has inherited these elements and tools from Soviet times and earlier. The West, on its side, does not comprehend the sophistication of these tools and hardly grasps what they can achieve. To cite the testimony of former Soviet intelligence officer Konstantin Preobrazhensky, the KGB maintained a department whose sole work was the manage heads of state who were Soviet agents.
We do not understand this regime and we have not understood it. A false and distorted history of Soviet Russia has been produced to distract us from vital operational facts. For example, the 35,000 tanks cited by Hitler. World War II was the most misunderstood war of all history because it was the first major war to be waged alongside the Soviet Union's massive deception apparatus. The lies told about this war from the Soviet side, combined with the regular falsifications of the Germans and Allies, leaves us with a collage of myth, and no real notion of why this disaster occured or who initially hoped to benefit. The falsifications run so deep, and have been so successful, one cannot help feeling that we have yet to escape the consequences of these falsifications today.
The Second World War is still important for Moscow. This war lends the regime a kind of legitimacy. The war extended Communist control to central Europe. It broke the back of the British Empire, opening the way to the political correctness. The war also turned the United States into a global policeman when the U.S. elite was not culturally endowed with the necessary competence to perform this new role.
As Diana West has pointed out in her book, our military alliance with the Soviet Union opened the United States to further penetrations and manipulations by Moscow's agents. Nuclear weapons and other technologies were stolen by Moscow. China was set up for a Communist takeover, as well as North Korea. Japan and Germany, the natural military barriers to Soviet exapansion, were militarily destroyed and required protection from U.S. forces. The breakup of the colonial empires, as touched on above, opened a wide field to Soviet mischief.
With all these points to consider we should ask ourselves to what extent the Soviet Union was a prime instigator of the Second World War. A major clue may be found, as noted above, in Hitler's conversation with Mannerheim. A key piece of evidence, which can be confirmed in other sources, is the astonishing number of 35,000 tanks! This number signifies a war preparation that dwarfs all other war preparations. Such a preparation is not simply a phenomenon of the 1930s. It continued to be a crucial feature of the Soviet state until its official demise in 1991. And we must not imagine, even now, that this preparation remains in abeyance.
As Russian military pressure on Ukraine intensifies, as ISIL advances and strengthens, as hackers threaten U.S. banks like J.P. Morgan, we can see a pattern and a larger design. When we learn that a leading commander in ISIL was born in the Soviet Union and trained in Russia, we ought to wonder what is really going on? When we read that cyber-attacks on U.S. banks are thought to originate in Russia, we should stop believing in coincidences.
There is a bag of tricks, and there are tricksters at work.

The Destruction of the United States Thu, Jan 25, 2007 By JR Nyquist
History teaches that all nations, like all individuals, have a beginning and an end. No country is immortal. No nation is invincible. To make the point less delicately, America will one day cease to exist. And it may be useful, especially given the multiple crises now developing, to contemplate the mortality of the world's most powerful country. What would the world be like without the United States? Would it be more violent or less violent? Would it be richer or poorer? Would there be more dictatorships in the world, or fewer, more freedom or more tyranny? The answers you give on these questions, if you are liable to have any answers, are ideologically defining.
There are those who claim that America's destruction would be a good thing. The destroyers of America, by this reasoning, would be liberators and heroes. If we attempt to look at the case objectively, it is hard to think of America's chief rivals for power as "liberators" in any sense of the word. China is a communist dictatorship and Russia is governed by thugs.
It is not nice to say that major powers like China or Russia seek the destruction of the United States. It is not nice to say that Russia and China are governed by thugs. But anyone who studies the foreign policies, chicanery, secret maneuvers and war preparations of Beijing and Moscow cannot honestly conclude otherwise. The fact that Russia and China are both assisting Iran's development of nuclear weapons is more than suggestive. It is no accident that in America's struggle against radical Islam, the Russian president has declared that Russia is Islam's "best friend." Before the fall of the Communist Party Soviet Union the central goal of Soviet foreign policy was to foster the downfall of the United States and the communization of the entire world. China, on the other hand, is a great country that suffered eclipse during the period of Western imperialism and colonialism. So China has reason to predicate its policy on the notion that "one good turn deserves another." The reason for China's opening to the West was not to enrich the Chinese bourgeoisie, or to adopt Western democratic values. The Chinese Communists sought an opening to the West so that they could get the investment capital and technology they needed for a modern military machine. Developing their economy is merely a necessary step in developing China's new superpower status.
Some days ago China successfully tested an anti-satellite weapon. This remarkable capability didn't develop overnight. As Washington Times correspondent Bill Gertz pointed out in his January 24 column, American defense officials concede that China's Jan. 11 test is part of a "covert space-weapons program designed to cripple the U.S. military in a conflict." The Chinese, to be sure, are publicly lying about the peacefulness of their intentions. "This test was not directed at any country and does not constitute a threat to any country," said the Chinese Foreign Ministry. Oh yes, we all know that China couldn't possibly want to shoot down American satellites. Beijing merely enjoys the challenge of shooting down its own satellites for meaningless target practice. In that case, it was a also a "practice" exercise when Chinese hackers attacked U.S. Naval War College computers in November. As one U.S. official told Bill Gertz: "The Naval War College is where the Navy's Strategic Study Group is planning and practicing cyber-war techniques, and now they don't even have e-mail access."
In a 1999 book titled Red Dragon Rising, researchers Edward Timperlake and William C. Triplett wrote: "We are deeply disturbed that senior PLA [People's Liberation Army] officers have begun to talk among themselves about a preemptive strike using information warfare. In 1996, for example, a writer in the PLA's main newspaper pointed out that 'the enemy' has 'reconnaissance positioning satellites, AWACs, stealth bombers, aircraft carriers, long-range precision weapons' but the PLA does not. A surprise attack, therefore, is not only justified but 'is the only way to steer the course of the war in a direction favorable to China.'" Two years before 9/11, Temperlake and Triplett warned that a Chinese surprise attack on the United States "would be aimed at the American people - that is, the home front."
Is this the policy of a peaceful and friendly nation?
Furthermore, China's naval buildup directly threatens the economic lifelines of Japan, South Korea, the Philippines and Taiwan. The Japanese have expressed alarm at the appearance of Chinese warships close to their shores. Is it possible that Chinese naval power might one day force East Asian nations into Beijing's political orbit? According to Chinese president and commander-in-chief Hu Jintao, China needs a navy that is prepared for war "at any time." At a meeting of Communist Party delegates in December, dressed in a green military uniform, Hu explained: "We should strive to build a strong navy that meets the needs of our military's historical mission in this new century and at this new stage. We should make careful preparations for future military battles to ensure that our forces can effectively carry out their mission at any time."
And what is this "historical mission" of the People's Liberation Army? Believe it or not, Chinese Communism is sworn to destroy Western capitalism and build, in its place, a new socialist civilization. This has been a central doctrine of the Communist Party of China since its inception. The development of capitalism in China is merely a necessary expedient, accepted for the sake of capitalism's ultimate demise. It is through trade that China is building its economic position, and thereby its military position. Western capitalists should look to their own survival. But this is something they take for granted. Many businessmen would say that U.S.-Chinese enmity is absurd. That is to say, they ignore China's military buildup, China's infiltration of Canada, China's strategic alliance with Mexico, China's "partnerships" with Russia and Iran. Here is a strategic "pattern" that deserves our close attention.
It is odd that Washington should worry more about Iran, when the butchers of Tiananmen Square are manufacturing thermonuclear weapons like sausages. So many nuclear weapons, and one big, fat, hollowed-out country to drop them on. Given the preparations of China, does anyone really suppose America is going to die a slow death at the hands of social reformers, lawyers and downsizing experts? Even if one supposes a gradual weakening of the Republic, wouldn't some overseas power take advantage before the sick animal keels over? And since it really was the barbarians that finished off Rome, ask yourself who is most likely to finish off America?
What about the Russians? All the leading intelligence defectors and dissidents from Russia seem to agree that the Kremlin ordered the death of KGB/FSB defector Alexander Litvinenko. Nearly all of them think that the Soviet system is back in power. And the United States, with its ties to Europe weakened, with its global image in tatters, with its army stuck in Iraq, finds itself unable to oppose Russia's policy in Europe and the Middle East. Under present circumstances, no American politician would suggest a return to the Cold War. And so, the Kremlin advances on every front, in broad daylight, unchallenged and unfettered - nationalizing industries, muzzling independent newspapers and silencing opposition voices with bullets and radioactive poison. What do we suppose the Russian leadership is up to?
When Nikita Khrushchev bragged of Moscow's future victory almost fifty years ago, he said to his Western listeners, "Your grandchildren will live under Communism." If we think the time of reckoning is a long way off, we ought to remember that we are the grandchildren Khrushchev was talking about. Soviet Russia's long-range strategy didn't expect quick results. It was predicated on patience, on decades of deception. America is now in a weakened economic and military position. The Great Crisis cannot be passed along to yet another generation, because things are coming to a head. The position of the United States is approaching a low point, and America's enemies know it. On Tuesday Iranian President Ahmadinejad told Syria's foreign minister: "the United States and the Zionist regime of Israel will soon come to the end of their lives." The end is near, he says. The time to strike is approaching. A BBC poll taken in 25 countries, involving 26,000 people, suggests that America is no longer as popular, as admired or favored as it once was. The tables have been turned and the dictators of the world are encouraged.
The number one security concern of the United States is the prospect of a massive terror assault against the American homeland using nuclear weapons. This is not a mythical threat. A successful assault against one city, killing five to fifty thousand people, would almost certainly trigger an unprecedented economic and political crisis in America. First, the dollar would lose its value. Second, cities would shut down and people would flee to the countryside. National paralysis and the collapse of entire industries could follow. A terrorist attack with nuclear weapons need only destroy a single city. The rest is accomplished by suggestion, by the psychological aftermath of history's most profound failure. What government, what Constitution, could survive such a failure?
America is helpless, not knowing which way to turn as nuclear weapons are built and tested in one country after another. Some experts are afraid that America is going to launch a preemptive attack on Iran, to prevent Iran from acquiring nuclear weapons. In the long run, all rogue regimes will acquire nuclear weapons. In the long run, terrorists will acquire nuclear weapons. Either they will be given the weapons, or Russian and Chinese special forces will place the weapons in America themselves, knowing that terrorists will be blamed. How could the United States retaliate if the attackers cannot be identified? And what becomes of Mutual Assured Destruction under such circumstances?
We already know from defector testimony that Russia's war plan incorporates the use of false flag terrorist diversionary operations in the early stages of the next world war. GRU defector Viktor Suvorov explained long ago that such operations were referred to as "gray terror." The fact that Ayman al-Zawahri was named as a longtime agent of the KGB is the icing on the nuclear cake (as it were). The fact that Alexander Litvinenko - the man who fingered Zawahri - was recently poisoned by polonium-210, underscores the hardscrabble reality of the nuclear terror game. The United States government and President Bush aren't looking at the problem squarely. They are looking away from the main threat, toward a tertiary threat. This is a fatal error, because the war we are in isn't simply a war against Muslim extremists. It is a much broader, more deceptive conflict.
The United States has never been nearer to destruction.
